Reviews
The flavors were excellent, and by the time I finished, I wanted to order more. The crispy chicken had wonderful breading that brought the whole dish together, and the beef was delectable and hard not to eat in one bite. The portion sizes were also very generous for the price.
The staff was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be coming back!
Appetizers
– Curry Puffs (only came with 2) (pictured)
– Papaya salad (good portion, not much flavor) (pictured)
Entrees
– Pad Thai (largest portion, ordered spicy and was not spicy)
– Bethesda Fried Rice (generic but good, liked that beef did not cost extra)
– Pork Belly with Chinese Broccoli (fine flavor, but did not realize pork belly was going to be fried thought it was stir friend pork belly) (pictured with hand for portion size which was on the small side)
In terms of ambiance, it was tough to get a seat for a group of 4 or more, since the restaurant is quite small and has mostly seats for 2. The decors is clean and modern, on the simplistic side.
If I had any useful feedback for the owners, it would be to add more descriptions to the menu. For example, how many curry puffs are in an order. Or, that the pork was fried and only the veggies are stir fried.
Overall, the experience was fine but not notable. I would come back for late night take out for Thai noodles like Pad Thai and fried rice since the restaurant closes at 10pm, which is a game changer for Kentlands.
For the food we got the homemade wontons which I highly recommend. It has a red curry sauce on top and is a little spicy.
We didn’t adjust spice level for our dishes I wanted to see how spicy the normal dish was. If you can’t handle, or don’t like spice, it’s best to let the waiter know. The food was pretty spicy. I can usually handle heat, but it was a spice that built up over time.
The Thai tea tasted fresh and it was great to offset the spice from the dishes.
I got the vege panang curry that was really good. I usually make it a little thicker at home, but that’s a personal preference.
My husband got beef drunken noodle. I usually don’t like beef, but they had a really nice cut of meat so it wasn’t chewy or grisly.
They did a great job on the regular Thai food that you can find at any thai place. But I saw there were specialty dishes that you don’t see at other places so I’m excited to come back and try that.
