I’ve tried cajun food in New Orleans, and somehow the best I’ve ever had was at this little spot in Mississippi.
The gumbo was dark, rich, and packed with deep, slowcooked flavor. Even the sides were incredible.

From the greeting to the desert was fantastic. I had the creole pasta with chicken and my husband had the fish and shrimp platter. The flavors in everything were chefs kiss, so so good. For desert, we had the egg roll cheesecake topped with ice-cream. It was crunchy, creamy, and simply divine. We will definitely go back.

We stopped in during a road trip and we were just passing through and saw this place on google – the food was great! Everyone that was working was very friendly, and even though they were very busy when we got there the food and service was quick! What a pleasant surprise. We stopped for dinner after seeing the Christmas lights in Jackson on our way back to Hattiesburg, and we are so glad we did. My seafood gumbo was excellent, and the rest of the meals were just as enjoyable. A perfect way to end a lovely evening.

I ordered the creole dip, gumbo, special fried rice with crab, crawfish, shrimp, and chicken, the Cajun burger, and cheesecake. The dishes were well-seasoned, and our waiter provided excellent service. However, the gumbo fell short of expectations, while the other items were outstanding. Additionally, the prayer wall was a unique and meaningful feature, with the note that if a prayer is removed by the time of return visit, it signifies an answered prayer.

So, I’ve heard so many great things about A’HA Ctawfish Bistro and FINALLY had the opportunity to experience it for myself. Let me tell you!! It’s very few and far between that I go to a restaurant for the first time that was highly recommended and the food and service was spot on and actually exceeded my expectations. When they took my order I was somewhat unsure about what exactly I wanted and the waiter/chef maybe, let me take my time and made some really great suggestions, no rushing into anything that I was unsure of. He helped me decide on what I wanted, (The Cajun Pasta), and he explained the many different options for add-ons. I can honestly say, that was the absolute best Cajun Pasta Dish that I’ve had since I lived on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in Bay St. Louis, MS. I didn’t have to add salt, cheese, pepper, NOTHING! it was perfectly seasoned straight from the kitchen. I also ordered a side of seasoned fries and they were fantastic! Perfectly cooked and seasoned.
There were 2 others in my party and they had the special which was a pimento cheese burger and some loaded Sriracha fries topped with brisket and seasonings. They raved about their Burger and the fries as well.
So A’HA Ctawfish Bistro definitely exceeded my expectations which is unusual. I highly recommend giving them a try, you definitely won’t be disappointed. A+++

This place is so awesome. I am constantly looking for places with frog legs and this place absolutely delivered! Don’t let their burgers go under the radar either, as the smoked gouda burger blew my mind. The loaded fries with shrimp were also so incredible. The cherry on top was the prayer wall, with so many thoughtful and heartwarming prayers to read and think about. Lucy was a wonderful and helpful server. We will be coming back here any chance we get!
