I was really pleased with the salmon and risotto main entrée and we got a side of mushroom mushrooms, and I can’t stop thinking about them. They were really good!
I would definitely recommend and I can’t wait to go back. I would suggest getting a reservation as it gets really busy.
Easy to make reservation, and was seated 15min early at an outdoor table. Unfortunately not shaded but only because of the direction of the sun… but it was a perfect day though so we didn’t mind.
Waiter Brandon was really good at checking in with us frequently without ever being disturbing. Waters were always filled. Food status was always known. Needs always met. Gave him a good tip =)
We started with mimosas of course! Then got ourselves an ahi tuna appetizer (a bit on the spicy side but the noodles were fantastic with the sauce) & a cheeseboard (loved how the raisin mix and the legit honeycomb combines with the 3 rich cheeses).
Our main courses arrived soon after. The short ribs with bok choy was very tender, flavorful and meaty. The hash version is a more potatoy than meaty, but still tasty in its own mini cast iron.
Overall a solid experience for a great birthday lunch.
The drinks were really good and reasonably priced. We tried the tuna tartare which was incredible! For our entree we got a spaghetti squash with chicken meatballs. The dish was overall pretty tasty and filling despite the amount of food on the dish. I personally would have liked the chicken to be more seasoned but thankfully they have salt and pepper on the table to bring out some more flavor.
I do feel that the hostess/servers were struggling a bit with the amount of people though. We did get the wrong menu (brunch instead of dinner) and then also had to wait like 15 minutes for a table even with the reservation. Everyone was super nice and professional about it though.
Overall I really enjoyed going eating at Agricola. I def would go back again just for the atmosphere and drinks!
Impeccably prepared and presented meal. Exceptional wait staff., with an excellent balance of attentiveness without being intrusive. One is made to feel very welcome and comfortable. Ambiance is attractive without feeling ostentatious, even though this is clearly a very upscale establishment. This was my first time visiting here, but my daughter likes to frequent the place whenever she’s visiting NJ.
Everyone enjoyed their meals. We arrived relatively late, and opted for less elaborate menu items. There were many intriguing items on the menu. Be aware that the prices are on the high side (look at their online menu so that you don’t feel blind-sided by the costs). That being said, the quality of the food (and service and ambiance) we experienced was exceptional, and we did feel the cost was well-deserved.
Also, there were a number of inviting non-meat options for those so-inclined – I would actually like to come back and see what their “Grain Bowl” is like as an entree, as it sounds intriguing and inviting as a main meal alternative to some delicious-sounding meat/seafood choices.
For a special meal out with our visiting daughter, it was nicely memorable. But not something I would be inclined to indulge in regularly, as for me a near-perfect meal is a pizza and refills of Coke at Conti’s (also in Princeton). 🙂
So, definitely worth checking out, especially if you wish to have a special get-together.
