I think this place was a LOT better when they initially opened. Still love the atmosphere.
The first problem was that “not” little kids running around and having fun, but some of the wait staff. I, as a grandmother of two twin girls, don’t mind a little of fun, but when they slammed the door; it startled pretty much everyone in the place.
The second small issue was that my avacado toast took quite a while to come out, and when it did, I was offered a plastic knife and fork. They didn’t have forks available, but when you’re dining in, I think you should try to keep up with demand. I mean, they literally just ran out. I’m not mad, but not too cool as my friends had real utensils, and I had plastic making it hard to cut up my toast.
Again, just attention to detail. Thanks, guys!
The atmosphere is nice, I’ll give it that. But one of the two pastries I ordered was wrong and they were both supposedly warmed up, but were lukewarm at best. One of them didn’t taste fresh at all and seemed to have been leftover from at least the day before. The cookie butter latte lacked any real flavor and was not hot. My husband’s sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit tasted as through it may have been microwaved.
Tables were dirty and in disarray, and only one person, a young woman, was working in the back, likely contributing to the quality of everything we ordered (not her fault if they were short staffed). Just not a good experience overall.
Ordered a breakfast plate with 2 scrambled egg and bacon and sourdough- busy day drop and run by the server had me looking at a sandwich with one over easy egg, and as much butter on the bread as it could hold. Serve did not realize mistake and return. Maybe the front cashier entered wrong- I couldn’t hear her soft voice in the chatter when she read back the order (I don’t have hearing issues). I picked at the bacon.
I really wanted to like everything, but I think I lost my “you pick the place” privilege for a bit.
If it’s not too hot or cold, the patio will lead to lingering- a leisurely meal and sipping. Otherwise, the inside is loud, cold, echoing with the sounds of baristas hard at work as well as children screaming (attracts a lot of young families). Expect a line as well, but it’s worth it I think!
