This restaurant is AMAZING! I really need to learn to eat something other than seafood, but i try not to eat pork or beef. Maybe I’ll try the chicken next time. Be sure to stop in! Bring a friend! Bring a party! I love bringing all my friends here! The food is wonderful! The atmosphere is wonderful! Some people just need Señor Broccoli to salsa dance!

I’ve been back a few times and had great service and food. All 3.5 to 4 star.This last time, my food was really…meh..my go to fajitas was really, really overcooked and maybe sat too long? Not freshly cooked either…for the $16, it wasn’t worth it. Few dried chewy pieces of steak and chicken and also I think the sausage was either bits that were burnt or missing? There are many other Mexican restaurants, and I just feel this was definitely a 3 star visit.
The two guests I had brought here to dine for their first time liked their meal.

First time here, and definitely, we will be back! Great food and great prices. Went for lunch and left very full. You can’t get this at Taco Bell and pay way less here. Two people dining for $13? Inside is very clean and cheerful atmosphere. The wait staff is very friendly and welcoming. Seems a little hidden in the plaza, but I’m glad we found this place!

Updated review: I posted a review of what I believe has to be a different restaurant operating from this location versus 3 years ago. That place was not nearly as good as this place. It has improved in every way. Improvements include fresh tasting thick & robust salsa. Dense menu, attentive courteous staff, well prepared flavorful dishes. I’m going to return and bring others. I Fritos recommend this restaurant.
I was looking for Street Tacos. I didn’t see them in the menu, but that was likely an oversight on my part.

Don’t go anywhere else! The food is amazing. Perfection. Full of flavor and quality. Victor, our server, is wonderful and friendly. I know each item on this menu is made with the same excellence that was with the quesadillas we ordered for our family. No where else has better food!

I usually don’t like Mexican food much but this place was AMAZING!!! Me and boyfriend tried the food and agreed it tasted like heaven. I recommend this place to anyone. Price was slightly more expensive than what I was used to but the portions were big enough to outweigh that. Def 10/10

This is in a large shopping plaza at Chapel Hill. I sat at the bar. A sign of a good Mexican restaurant is not too many margarita machines. They only had one for lime. I ordered a jumbo raspberry margarita and watched the bartender make it fresh. It was really good. The chips and salsa were complimentary. The chips were warm. The salsa was average, tasting similar to what you find in a jar. I really can appreciate a great salsa and I was disappointed. I got the chimichanga special with refried beans rice, sour cream, lettuce, and Pico de Gallo. I didn’t think the chimichanga was that good. Just average. Overall it was good but there are so many Mexican restaurants out there that I would choose before coming back.

I have no idea what happened this time around because I have come here once before and it was fantastic, but I ordered the Burrito Azteca and a Chicken Burrito Agavero and they were awful. There was almost no meat inside both of them, only 1 piece of shrimp in the Azteca, and both of them were nearly all peppers. Every bite was peppers and more peppers. I didn’t order a fajita. I ordered a burrito. On top of this I ordered a side of fries and they were disgusting. They tasted as if they were frozen, absolutely plain with no flavor at all, I got them luke warm at best, and the plate had barely any of them on it. If I’m paying 3.49$ for fries I want more than a McDonald’s small fry would offer me. I wish I could have gotten my money back. It was a waste. I understand my review is harsh but if consistent service isn’t given I can’t rate a place high.
The place was okay cleanliness wise, but I had a fly hovering around my food the entire time I ate so that ruined the experience for me.
As for service it was decent and the female serving us was kind. She even gave us extra cherries in our Shirley Temples which was kind. However it did take a long time to leave the place. We asked for to-go-boxes and it took 10 minutes or more to get them.

First time that the margaritas (1/2price Monday) basically were a virgin margarita. Customer service was like —/—ok, you’re here so we will serve you. Not sure if tortilla chips were stale or salsa was off, Also a first time they couldn’t add onions to burrito. Had to order as a side and add myself. Most restaurants charge for added toppings/ingredients which is fine. (Pizza, fast food etc.)but they add it.

I tend to be apprehensive about trying new ethnic food restaurants, but I heard good things about Agavero. And I’m glad I gave them a chance. Given the location I was not expecting to have the experience I did. Their prices are very reasonable and the food portions are exceptional. Daily deals on entrées and drinks, and the service is phenomenal. Will be back to explore more of the menu.
