We came here for the first time and the waitress was great. The food selection was very minimal. There wasn’t a large selection. I got the carne gusado and it tasted like the chili for hot dogs out of the can it wasn’t good at all. The corn tortillas tasted homemade so that was a plus. They only have bottle soda. My husband got the Chipotle shrimp tacos it was bland and wasn’t appetizing. We went on karaoke night which was neat. The DJ was super nice and had a beautiful voice.

Food 1/5: The menu items are all over the place; enchilada, creole, steak, burger…this is not a Mexican food place. The carne guisada was like canned beef; my wife took 2 bites and left it alone. The Chipotle shrimp was just shrimp and rice in a tortilla with sauce on it. The fries tasted like they had ranch seasoning on them, very odd.

Service 5/5: The waitress was nice and took care of us.

Atmosphere 2/5: the place felt new with little and uncoordinated decor. They had a vfw guy hosting karaoke night as well, not what we wanted to listen to when trying to eat a family dinner.

Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend it.

My husband and I have been wanting to try Agave since they opened—we’d heard such great things, and I have to say, we were not disappointed!

We got to choose where we wanted to sit, which was a nice touch. The roasted salsa came out warm (my favorite way!) and was so fresh. We also ordered the guacamole as an appetizer—it was incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious.

For my meal, I had the shrimp cocktail, which was bursting with flavor. I prefer smaller shrimp, and this dish had them, plus generous chunks of avocado—so good! My husband got the brisket taco special, and I tried a bite. The meat was unbelievably tender and perfectly seasoned.

I also appreciated that they had a kids’ menu. Our 6-year-old daughter got mini corn dogs and fries, and she was very happy with her meal.

The overall friendliness of the staff was phenomenal. I give this place a 10/10—highly recommend, and I’ll definitely be coming here regularly!

Awesome place, very comfortable and an out-of-the-way atomosphere. AMAZING food, especially the Street Tacos!! Nothing flashy or fancy, just real down home, down-to-earth setting. Staff is great – the owner, Mike, genuinely cares as he walks around and asks customers how their experience is going. They are actually going to expand in a couple weeks and have sandwiches to go plus a place to make their great tamales. Kudos, Agave!!

Loved it! Food is amazing! Their homemade queso is Delicious! They have 3 different menus, which is a bit confusing about what’s available at what time. But ALL of the food is so good! Closed Sun + Mon. Friendly, efficient staff; small place but comfy seating. New place, so I’m excited to see how they grow. Go check ’em out!

I got the carne guisada and the bacon-wrapped jalapeno appetizer. I forgot to take pictures before I started eating. Both were super delicious. Portions were a good size and prices are great. Oh and the salsa that came with the chips was so good.

We have eaten Cajun food in Louisiana and many places.
The gumbo, seafood pasta, gator bites were as good as we have eaten.
The service was excellent and the owners came to our table and talked with us.
We will definitely go again and highly recommend this place.

Without question one of my absolute favorite places to eat in all of Hood County. Phenomenal, gumbo, and other Cajun dishes along with old world Mexican food that seems to take everything to another level. Absolutely wonderful. Worst case scenario is order the best. Hamburger in town. These guys really are great, their portions are ample, and their prices are right.

Wow wow wow! This place is a level up from any typical Mexican restaurant! The food is unique and so flavorful!! We feasted on the Tacos Kike that they serve 11am to 5pm and they were BEYOND delicious. They even serve more gourmet items like Cajun shrimp and shrimp etouffe for dinner! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! (Adriana the owner knows how to cook!!! and Linda was an excellent server!) ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
