I got the Bandera Burrito which was about 99% rice. It was huge but I’d have preferred smaller with meat. I did fine three shrimp in all the rice and a bit of chorizo.
Margaritas were huge also but tasted like a mix. I’d pass on them.
Okay, Foodie Fam, listen up! Agave Bar & Grill is not just a restaurant; it’s a fiesta for your taste buds! First of all, the decor is so vibrant and Instagrammable, you’ll be snapping pics before you even see the menu. The neon signs are practically begging for a selfie! But let’s talk about the food. The queso? Forget about it! So good, I almost licked the bowl clean. (Don’t judge me. ) The taco salad was equally amazing, packed with flavor and made with love. And the margaritas? Let’s just say they made me want to salsa the night away! If you’re looking for a fun, flavorful, and photo-worthy dining experience, Agave Bar & Grill is the place to be. Just be prepared to fight the urge to wear a sombrero and mariachi suit. (I almost did. ) #FoodieLyfeTours #AgaveGrill #ColumbusGA #MexicanFood #QuesoObsessed #MargaritaMadness
The hostess was very nice and our server was attentive, professional, and friendly.
We were there for a late/2pm lunch on a weekday. Two other tables had just been sat/hadn’t ordered when we were seated (one two-top and one with six adults and two children) and there were two other couples finishing their meals/paying their checks. We ordered at around 2:05, after the two other tables mentioned above, and did not receive our food until around 2:45 = it took 40 minutes to make two entrees. Our server updated us about 30 minutes into our wait, stating the kitchen got backed up by the “large party” (of six adults and two kids). After we received our food, the manager came by to apologize stating the same “large party” backing up the kitchen. My issue is that if a table of six adults and two children can back up the kitchen causing food for two people to take 40 minutes at 2pm on a weekday, I can’t imagine how long the wait would be during a lunch rush. There were plenty of servers on duty, so I’m assuming the kitchen was well-staffed too…?
The meal was fine; not the best Mexican food in Columbus. The atmosphere and number of items on the menu make Agave an attractive option, especially if you live downtown/uptown. The food wasn’t good enough to warrant a second trip for us, given the lengthy wait for our order, but I wouldn’t necessarily discourage anyone from checking it out. It’s a new restaurant with kinks to work out, so hopefully others will have a better experience.
