I love Agave! It’s one of my favorite restaurants, I keep going back again and again. The loaded nachos, birria tacos, and street corn are must-haves. I also love their drinks, specially the Sake Sangria. The atmosphere is perfect for sitting down and having drinks with your girls. 10/10 recommend!

This location is better for the area. . Now for the food yes it was flavorful I got loaded fries and they hit the spot! No it was not this massive portion however I was left overall ok. I was craving Carne Asada Fries from Cali style that iv had back home in Colorado I’m Mexican yes food for us is filled with different seasonings and tons of flavor. Here no this is not Authentic Mexican its a great mix. Here you come for a quality meal with twist in thier seasoning and uniquely prepared for you. May be bland if you prefer high tasty higher on salty side but if you want a good time chat with a friend thst may need specific, not too much seasoning overpowering meal this is your spot. Atmosphere is BEAUTIFUL and you’ll feel the video vibes ✨️ pleasant on top of our server completely knowledgeable of her place of work and completely familiar with the dishes! If I were to rate her she was Phenomenal! Please come check this restaurant it’s a nice addition to the Main street gems in New Paltz ✨️ loved it.
Empanadas filling was so delicious loved it cheesey .
I reviewed after days to make sure tummy happy. And this place is safe from bad stomach at least in both cases my friend and I. I’ll be back to try the other dishes.

This place is very cute, clean and has an amazing ambience. We stopped by after a long hike and it was just what we needed. The mushroom and shrimp taco were sooo good!! However the fish taco was kind of cold and the guac could have a tad bit more seasoning. But I would definitely visit again. There mocktails and there tacos overall were amazing!

Really great, and well priced, offerings. Good for both vegetarians and non vegetarians. The non alcoholic drinks were as good as the alcoholic cocktails. Service was very fast and friendly. Would definitely come back!

I am a tough critic of Mexican food because I used to be really spoiled having great Mexican food when I lived in San Diego , and most places in the northeast don’t compare- but this is definitely in the same league as my dearly missed San Diego style Mexican food . Enjoyed the carne asada taco, fresh guac, ceviche, yuca fries . Prices were very reasonable and I was so full from lunch that I didn’t need to eat dinner. Next time I’m in the area I’m definitely coming back . The service was very friendly and attentive

We came here as a family, brought my two girls (11,8). Ordered the nachos as a gauge and thy did not disappoint. Light and fresh. Figured couldn’t not go wrong on the rest of the menu. The birria tacos were inhaled. The ramen is the best item on the menu. Broth was incredible and eggs were a fabulous add. Fried ice cream was massive and nothing left. I also ordered the agave margarita with tajin and it was delicious if were ever in the area would definitely go back.

There are several great Mexican restaurants in new paltz, and they are each quite distinct. Depending on what we are in the mood for, we choose one over the other. Agave is our favorite restaurant for birria tacos and pineapple upside down cake. In fact, this is the best upside down cake I’ve ever had. My husband has been sampling birria tacos all over town and likes these the best. We’ve also enjoyed carnitas, tamales street corn and shrimp tacos on previous visits. The young staff has a family feeling. Very friendly. There are many margaritas and mocktails to choose from. Mexican love songs are playing while you dine.

This is hands down the best Mexican restaurant I’ve been to. Their food and beverages are appetizing and beautifully garnished. I had their pollo bowl with the nojito mocktail and I was very pleased. The dish exhibited a lovely blend of fresh Hispanic and even Asian flavors. The drink had a minty, tart but sweet taste which I enjoyed. The staff were incredibly sweet and accommodating. Overall, I highly recommend dining at this gem in the heart of New Paltz and I will be coming back!

Had a wonderful lunch today at Agave! The service was absolutely amazing, so friendly! Really enjoyed the food and drinks. The chips and guacamole were so good I forgot to take a picture. Loved the vegetarian options such as street corn and cauliflower bowl. I will be back!

I want to first say that the place is beautiful. The atmosphere is truly one of the prettiest I’ve seen here in new paltz. I was recommended this place by a friend and my partner and I went to dine. We as Hispanics, were very disappointed with the food. The only plates that saved this rating were the tamale, the side fried rice and the desserts.

We attempted to order a bit of everything, and enjoyed the appetizers more than the meals.

The carne asada , I’m not sure why, but if the meat is pre marinated they need to work on the marination . It was a little vinegary and overall very bland in flavor. However the consistency of the meat was very soft.

The huarache was still a bit raw in the middle. The steak pieces on the huarache were better than the carne asada itself.

It’s really unfortunate. Because this place ended up being almost 100 dollars for two people, with us ordering an appetizer, a meal, a drink and dessert each one. If the food was appetizing I wouldn’t judge the prize. But for $100 for bland meat and a pretty scenery does not make this place justified for its prices.
