We stopped by this lovely restaurant on our way back to Phoenix after exploring Tonto Natural Bridge. We read all the great reviews on Find Me GF, and this place lived up to the hype. We way over ordered since we haven’t had many of these menu items since we started having gluten issues. We had the mozzarella sticks, pretzel bites, chicken egg roll, patty melt, and meat lasagna. Everything was so delicious! We couldn’t resist the sweets and brought home a rice krispy treat and a piece of banana bread. Amazing! Highly recommend visiting Against the Grain. Wish we had a restaurant like this in my town.

Wow!!!! A gluten-free restaurant. It’s great to not have to worry about the food that you’re ordering. That you can eat everything on the menu.
I had the chicken and waffle and onion rings. They were both delicious.
My hubby got the breakfast burrito. He said that the tortilla was a little gummy. But the insides were delicious.

So glad I found this place when searching for a gf restaurant while we visited nearby. The Fish n Chips was good, the pizza was excellent – namely the crust, so good. Had to try a cinnamon roll also, which was delicious. I wish I could come back here every day for a week to try all the different dishes they offer. Def would love to try the orange chicken and the chicken and waffles. Very friendly service and atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Everything is gluten free. There are a few items that contain soy and tree nuts. But the food here is amazing! Their in-house bread is fluffy. The pricing for everything is affordable too! I did splurge and spend a little extra. They are very open about ingredients to ensure food safety with allergens. Definitely a go-to spot.

Had the soft pretzel with cheese and a hot dog. My first pretzel in over two years (celiac) and the best hot dog bun I’ve found! My husband had the tuna fish sandwich and said the bread was really good even though he’s not GF.

We came in for the best shakes in town, it was a hot day so we needed it. The gal at the front said “we can make nay shake you can think of.” I asked for a hot fudge shake, immediately they don’t have hot fudge. I asked for a chocolate strawberry shake, they made me a strawberry shake with Hershey syrup on top. The shakes took 20 minutes to make some how even though we were the only ones that ordered, and they forgot one of our items we had to go back up and ask for it. The shake took itself didn’t have much flavor, and the ice cream they used was more icy than creamy.
Inside was a bit mismatched you couldn’t quite tell if it is a restaurant, third space or gluten free store. It wasn’t super easy to navigate.
Air conditioning was nice.
If I wanted some gluten free options for my cupboard I’d stop here, but otherwise I would steer clear.

Absolutely awesome little restaurant, and celiac-safe too! This was our first time going, and though it’s a 30 minute drive just to get here we’ll absolutely be coming back as often as we can- it’s that good, and our first visit made a great impression! They’re a small, family owned and fully gluten-free restaurant, and seem to really care about their customers- everyone was really nice from the moment we walked in. The menu itself is BIG and has lots of variety, which is really exciting when you’ve got celiac like me and can’t go many places! My mom who doesn’t need to eat gluten free loved what she got too, and is also eager to go back. They’ve also got really good prices, especially compared to other gluten free places. (I’ve been to plenty of places who either offer gluten free ‘options’ but neglect cross contamination and make me ill, or fully gluten free places who charge premium dollar at the expense of people with food allergies and don’t care much about making their food good- this place is a far cry from either! We were really happy both with how good the food was, and that we didn’t break the bank doing so- and that gave us the opportunity to order a bunch of things to try!)

I got the buffalo chicken sandwich, an eggroll, a maple donut, and a personal pizza to share, and my mom got the fish sandwich- I was given a generous piece of chicken for mine with a nice mild buffalo sauce, and the lettuce and tomato was nice and fresh and crisp! The fries were hot, fresh and had nice seasoning. The pizza was GOOD, the perfect amount of cheese and sauce, and the eggroll was so, so good I didn’t even need the sauce it came with! (Any time I try something new, especially when it’s that good, my immediate reaction as a celiac is oh no, did I mess up and eat the regular wheat version of something? But everything here is gluten free!! And despite being a sensitive celiac who sometimes even gets reactions to products that Should be gluten free, no problems here at all!) I also got a maple glazed donut, which I haven’t been able to have in a good 15 years and have missed dearly, and it was AMAZING. Not ridiculously overly sweet like some baked goods are, but definitely still sweet enough to be an awesome treat and hit the spot I’ve been craving! Mom loved her fish sandwich, too. And even with everything we tried, there’s still so much on the menu that looks good and we’re curious about- breakfast foods? Sandwiches and burgers? Pizza and salads and pasta? Chinese food? There’s a little bit of everything!

The restaurant itself is nice, small, and charming- it’s comfy in there, but not crowded! You get to pick your own seat and then order at the counter, but if you think that means they’re hands off you’d be wrong- it was some of the sweetest customer service we’ve gotten, and everyone was so friendly, coming over to say hi and make sure everything was good. And despite coming in close to close, we never felt rushed out- they were even sweet enough to ask if we’d like to grab any baked goods before they got put away for the day! They’ve also got several shelves of gluten free groceries in the back as well as a good bake case of their own goodies, and a shelf of board games and kid toys, so it seems like a great place for families or if you want to come and get some food and relax for a bit with friends!

I think they’ve only been open about a year, and I’m glad to have heard about them- I want to see them thrive! The owners are celiac too, but it’s a great place even if you don’t have food allergies. We loved the food and it means a lot to have a safe place to eat, let alone one filled with such friendly people. We’re definitely going to be back, and I’m excited to try their other donuts, get more egg rolls, and try the rest of the menu! (Sorry for rambling a book of a review here, but I got excited!)

Iiiiiii am in LOVE with every aspect of Against the Grain Food.
I’m not celiac but I am gluten sensitive. Sometimes I choose to eat gluten and suffer the consequences but as I get older, my body just can’t handle it anymore. It has always been a hassle finding gluten free places to dine at, however, I happened to come across this place on Google.
Today was my first visit and I was so thoroughly impressed, I will surely be back time and time again. The fettuccine alfredo was delectable with a great texture and flavor. The cinnamon and sugar donut was moist and light! The root beer float was floatin’. I also got a chocolate chip cookie and three pins to go \(^0^)/
Outside of the very affordable and delicious food, the whole place has such a neat vibe. A restaurant with games, merch, and a whole gluten free pantry! During my meal, another girl, maybe an off-duty employee or a regular, was sitting doing homework or working. It’s like if you took your favorite dive bar (sans the alcohol) and combined it with your favorite coffee shop and then added an 8-page gluten free menu.. I understand the decor or furniture placement may bother the Type A’s but they’re literally a mom and pop shop that’s been open for barely a year.
Lily at the register was patient and attentive, and just had overall had Good Human™️ energy. Justin, I believe the owner, was very welcoming and checked in with me during my meal.
I left feeling so FULL but my tummy was SOFT!! Instead of feeling bloated with a rock-hard tummy.
10/10. You got yourself a lifetime customer!

Stumbled upon this hidden gem, well not really hidden but we did stumble upon it. A gluten free restaurant and shop in the heart of downtown Mesa. We had to try the fish and chips. We were not disappointed were breaded in corn flower and cooked crispy on the outside and super juicy on the inside. The burger was tasty, they have gluten free buns but I just don’t like bread.

I will be going back to try some of their tasty looking desserts.

Very simple restraunt. Mostly breakfast items, a couple sandwiches choices, and some other odd items. Tator tots were fresh and crispy. The patty melt was delicious, fresh multigrain sourdough with a pretty thick burger patty. The teriyaki chicken was not to my liking. Sauce was kinda generic and too sweet for me. Chicken was good and rice was good, but too much sauce.
