First, the valet to the service while walking in was beautiful. Everybody was so kind and gracious; however, the quality of this establishment has gone down significantly over the years. The tablecloths are wrinkled. The sandwiches are stale, and they taste like they used grocery store ingredients, like those from Walmart. It doesn’t taste as fresh or as expensive as it used to, and I don’t mean to sound like a snob, but if you’re spending a hundred-plus dollars here, I would expect better food quality. The scones were delicious. Our server even gave us extra to take home, which I love her for. But sadly, I wouldn’t come here. It just didn’t feel like a high-end experience I once had, and other places offer the same food and dessert, for a lot cheaper. Like at least iron your table tablecloths…. The dessert But it still didn’t taste as fresh honestly, everything just felt like they left things in the fridge and served it to us when it was ready.

This place has been on my waitlist for years, and I just hadn’t found the right occasion—until my friends planned my birthday celebration here. They know me well, because it turned out to be my very first high tea experience, and definitely not my last.
From the moment we entered The Phoenician, it felt like stepping into another world. Parking was simple, and we made our way to the main lobby where the tea room is set. We were warmly welcomed and escorted in—and wow, what a gorgeous setup. With a live piano player, fresh flowers, elegant cutlery, and impeccable presentation, the whole ambiance felt truly royal.
We opted for the full tea experience and chose the Darjeeling tea, which was both exotic and fantastic. The finger sandwiches were each unique and delicious (with generous refills too!). Next came the scones, paired with lemon curd and strawberry jam—honestly some of the tastiest I’ve had.
One of the highlights was when the pianist played Happy Birthday as I blew out my cake. Such a special touch. Finally, the dessert plate arrived—so stunningly plated I almost didn’t want to touch it. Thankfully, they provided takeout boxes so we could bring some of the magic home.
The service was flawless—attentive without being overbearing. Prices are on the higher side, and do note there’s a 22% service fee, but it really is all about the experience.
If you’re in Phoenix, I’d highly recommend treating yourself to this high tea. It’s an experience worth savoring.

Took my daughter to Tea – we love this experience in their beautiful restaurant that overlooks their beautiful resort. The tea was so good (you get to choose from a large selection) and really enjoy the finger sandwiches. Live piano music adds to the beautiful ambience. They are generous in providing additional finger sandwiches if desired, and then scones with Devonshire cream, strawberry preserves and lemon curd. As if that’s not enough, they bring a plateful of mini deserts. We’re too full to eat them so they provided a box to take them home. The Phoenician is a special place for tea and it’s a tray to go. It is pricey so we save it for special occasions.

Fantastic tea! We had a great table right next to the piano player. Service was great and the food was even greater! There was a good variety of sandwiches (all delicious)! The scones weren’t the best I’ve had but they were still okay. I thought that the accompanying cream could have been a bit more flavorful. By the time the desserts came around, I was stuffed. I packed most of them up and enjoyed them later. I highly recommend Tea at the Phoenician if you’re ever in the area.

My wife and I celebrate our anniversary every year with afternoon tea and have been to Memphis, Chicago, New Orleans, Florida (in particular the resort The Grand Floridian), and now this Fabulous resort in Scottsdale, AZ, The Phoenician. This has by Far been our Very Best experience!!! The unlimited finger sandwiches (in which ever single one was delicious – even the asparagus which I typically do not like due to its preparation) were the best we’ve had. The scones were absolutely phenomenal and the best scones we’ve experienced with afternoon tea also so soft and fluffy. The sweets were only good. None were bad but only a couple matched the Quality of this Resort. The staff were very pleasant and kept their distance with also being very attentive. My wife and I could not have asked for a better Experience than this Fabulous Afternoon Tea at The Phoenician in Scottsdale Arizona, a wonderful way to celebrate culture and life with your loved ones. It is a bit expensive but worth it all!
Thank you for all you did!!!

Took my granddaughter to Tea here and we had a wonderful time. Service was great. Our server was very attentive and accommodating! The hotel is beautiful and the area where tea is held has beautiful views. The tea and food was delicious. Live piano music gave the whole event a lovely vibe. It was not my first visit and would definitely go there again.

What a delightful and unique experience! All of the food was absolutely delicious. Each little finger sandwich was impeccably seasoned. The scones were perfection with the devonshire cream and fruit. I have to say the lemon curd was the best I have ever has…not to tart, light, and delicious. The pastries were a wide variety of flavors and perfectly delectable. The tea was fragrant and everything I was looking forward to. Service amplified the experience and absolutely took it to the next level. Wanda, Natalie, Lillie, and Oscar were all friendly and committed to providing an amazing guest experience. I will definitely be doing this again!

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing Afternoon Tea at the Phoenician, and it was a wonderful and sophisticated experience with premier service. The setting was beautiful, with live piano music and resort views.
The finger sandwiches were fantastic, with options for seafood, vegetarian, and meat lovers. The English Cucumber with fresh mint cream cheese and the Soft Poached Lobster Roll with lemon aioli was particularly delicious. I also appreciated the unique and creative addition of the Pickled Deviled Egg with ninja radish and chive.
The Buttermilk and Cranberry Scones with clotted cream, lemon curd, and strawberry preserves perfectly accompanied the finger sandwiches. It was great to know that there were also vegan and kids options available on the menu.
The wine pairing with Sonoma-Cutrer Chardonnay from Russian River Ranches, California, was an excellent choice to complement the food.
Finally, the Caviar Enhancement with Royal Osetra with blini, chive, crème fraiche, soft-boiled egg, and lemon was a luxurious addition to the experience.
Overall, the Afternoon Tea at the Phoenician offers a sophisticated and enjoyable experience with an excellent variety of food options and wine pairings. Highly recommended for a special occasion or a relaxing afternoon with friends.
