Absolutely Amazing food! Brings great nostalgia for me, as my dad use to make egusi stew and fufu for me as a little girl. 25 to 30 min wait for it is worth it! Jollof Rice is a must have and a great side! I will definitely be coming again and again whenever I’m in town 😀

Drove here all the way from Frankford a almost 2 hour drive for me! Absolutely worth it!!!! The beef fufu and egusi was delicious and don’t get me started on the fried plantains, this was the best food I’ve had in a hot minute! Also very great customer service the lady that was working was very kind ! Also like to note both me and my boyfriend ordered a single order of the egusi stew and we still had leftovers after sharing! The only reccomendation is to get extra fufu when ordering! They fill those containers up!!!

I never really leave reviews but this time I’m actually really disappointed. I have eaten at this place plenty of times and have brought people to place and got the exact same order every time. The flavor is good but the portion size is disappointing because I know how it usually looks. As you see in the picture that’s from one scoop showing you how little this is. I feel like for more than $20 the bowl should be filled up to the fill line at least. The beef chunks are extremely small. My order has never looked like this. The price and product size is completely off. The price for this used to be $14 and now it’s more than $20 and the position is horrible. I am not getting what a payed for. Disappointing because I feel played and I’ve always been a supporter!

I’d give this zero stars if I could!! I got 3 meals yesterday and one was Ogbono Stew. It was not fresh. It smelled like vomit and tasted horrible. The meats in the other foods (Okra stew & Eru stew) weren’t fresh either. All the meats were hard, like frozen and then reheated in a microwave. I was looking forward to enjoying these meals and they were disappointing. My husband’s coworker came home with him when I told what I’d purchased. Brian is from Nigeria and was looking forward to trying this. He said none of it was cooked that day and the Obgono was spoiled by either the seeds or the time frame from which it was originally cooked. I spent $75 for that food and still had to spend money for everyone to eat. I’m highly disappointed that customers aren’t treated more respectfully with fresh food!

I ordered Egusi Stew with Beef and Fufu for $19.99 on a Sunday. This was my first time trying and first time going to this restaurant. Upon getting my food home, as I sat down to eat, I noticed that I was given CHICKEN instead of beef. I called, and after the second call, I recieved an answer. I explained what I ordered and how I received the wrong meat. The lady said they ran out of beef but that I could come back on Thursday, when they open back up, and she will give me four pieces of beef. I asked if I should bring the food back as well which she said no to. I didn’t think she really meant she was only going to give me the beef. With hesitation, I went back on Thursday all to ONLY receive 4 pieces of beef (which were mostly dry and tough, I.e., overcooked when I cut through them)… NO Egusi and no Fufu.
I asked, “Do I have to order the other items that were originally with it?” She said, “I don’t care but this is your refund, the beef.” I said, “I guess I’ll just have to figure out what to eat with it,” and walked out.
Overall, the meal was not worth $19.99 per the portion size and especially for me to receive what was not ordered and to not have the meal remade correctly. I was highly disappointed and likely will not be returning. Definitely not a great first time experience and definitely a waste of gas.

The jeloff rice and snapper is so good. She makes it super spicy for me. She is a very sweet person.
If you don’t like it spicy let her know before you order it.
Please go support her business

*** Updated review- The food when we first patronized this establishment was great. However, in the recent months the customer service and quality of the food has gone way down. The quantity of the food has decreased and the greed to scam customers is evident. The older lady is condescending and very argumentative when she clearly does not know how to add correctly. A side of Egusi without meat is $14.99, & fufu is $4.99 how does that equal $23.99 the same cost of egusi and fufu with meat? Instead of correcting her mistake she becomes defensive for over charging me $4.01 to say “My price is my price”. Well lady you can keep your over priced underwhelming food. Newark has way better food and great customer service.

First review – My nephew loves to try new foods and we came across this restaurant last night. It was a 25 minute drive but was worth it, for the amazing food. The customer service was fantastic we were greeted upon arrival by a young lady, and our food was ready and hot. We ordered the red snapper with Jolof rice, and two egusi with chicken and fufu. The cost was a little pricey.
