OMG this place is amazing! Just like a lokanta in Turkey which offers lots of options. We got an eggplant dish and another one with well seasoned white beans. Both were super delicious. Each order also came with either a salad or yogurt with dill as well as Turkish rice (pilav). Even the bread was great as it was warmed up. Super hospitable service too from the staff who offered us Turkish tea just like in Turkey. They also had lots of authentic desserts including candied pumpkin but I was too full to try. Can’t wait to come back!

Incredibly authentic Turkish cuisine that truly stands out in the local food scene. I had the lamb wrapped in roasted eggplant—the meat was exceptionally tender, literally falling off the bone, and perfectly complemented by the sweetness of the roasted peppers and tomatoes. A one-of-a-kind find if you’re looking for the real deal.

Afiyet is such a welcome addition to Cliffside Park. The food – buffet platter style – is flavorful, fresh and homemade. We had stuffed peppers, okra and eggplant. Desserts are also homemade and I especially enjoyed the pumpkin.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Afiyet Restaurant in Cliffside Park. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, and the service was exceptional. Our server, Eda, was incredibly attentive, kind, and knowledgeable about the menu—she made the whole meal even more enjoyable.
The food was outstanding. The kuru fasulye was rich, comforting, and perfectly seasoned—exactly the kind of traditional flavor you hope for. The lahana dolması was another highlight: tender cabbage rolls filled with perfectly balanced spices and a delicious, home-cooked.
I’ll definitely be coming back! Highly recommended.

Amazing Turkish cuisine from start to finish — everything was perfect. Best GYRO in NYC-NJ area. Definitely recommend!

The owner is really friendly. Nice selection of items. Lots of variety. Me and my partner had iskembe soup as a starter. I got the Kagit kebab and my partner got dolma as a main dish. My only complaint is charging $6 extra for plain yogurt and $20 extra for a dolma dish that had 3 dolmas on the plate and then charging it as a “meat dish” on the receipt. The yogurt should be included in the $20 price, not charged separately! however, everything else was good. For dessert, we got the kabak tatlisi which was okay, not the best but can’t complain. Most of the portions were large besides the dolma dish. Our server was very nice too. They offered Turkish tea on the house which was a plus with our dessert.
