Finally made it here to try Afghani cuisine. Everyone was so warm and welcoming + our server helped us pick out some dishes. The food was incredible- full of flavor, smoke and char. Can’t wait to come back!

Awesome place. We were visiting SLC for the night and our friend brought us here. Cute place, warm and nice! Food was amazing. We had lamb shank, kebobs (chicken and beef) and nan bread. Very reasonable pricing too. Must try

I ordered the lamb shank with rice, and it was absolutely delicious! The meat was so tender that I could eat it with just a plastic spoon. The portion was huge — I couldn’t even finish it. Honestly, it’s been a long time since I’ve had food this good.

A big thank you to Mohammed for the amazing meal and service. I’ll definitely stop by this restaurant every time I pass through Salt Lake City. It’s truly the best restaurant in town — nobody will regret coming here. Highly recommended!

Absolutely outstanding experience at Afghan Kitchen on Main Street. The food was incredible — rich flavors, perfectly seasoned, and clearly made with care. Everything we ordered was delicious, from the tender meats to the fresh bread and flavorful sides.

The table says it all — every plate was practically wiped clean because it was that good.

Service was warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere made it a great place to sit down with friends and enjoy a real meal together.

If you’re looking for authentic Afghan cuisine in Salt Lake City, this place is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back.

The Combination Dashi is out of this world! It’s similar to fajitas at a Mexican restaurant, but with different spices. Enjoy with Naan and it’s complete! I’ve been twice in little over a month. I only wish they were open for lunch, then I’d go more.

Dining area is small, but hasn’t been busy either time I was there. Which is a shame, they should be packed.

The food is delicious! The naan is thin and has a nice texture and flavor. Your receive 4 sauces to eat with your food and they are wonderful. I had the chicken and lamb kabob, the meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned. And everyone was so nice. We will definitely be back!

This is a great little hole in the wall. The food was phenomenal. Great service. If you like Indian food this is slightly similar. I loved the spices and the flavors. The restaurant can handle about 30 people, so it is cozy. I will eat here again.

Afghan Kitchen on main street (not to be confused with the other one close by) is a small restaurant serving food from Afghanistan. Parking out front has a few spots, with street parking around the side if needed. Inside, they have about a dozen or so tables. Their menu is a good size, with many different types of protein options like lamb, chicken, beef and more. Price per portion is good since the plates are loaded with food, including the appetizers. The naan was literally bigger than my head! The lamb dishes flavor are delicious, so I would highly recommend it. They bring out some hot sauces, chutney and yogurt sauce before hand as well. The service is great, it’s a family owned business and the owners are super friendly. Overall this is a great place to eat solo or even with groups up to 8 to sit comfortably. If you haven’t tried this type of food before, I’d say don’t be scared because it is so flavorful without being super spice heavy.

Feels like a homemade homestyle kitchen/ restaurant with delicious decent priced Afghan cuisine! The restaurant itself is kinda hidden and you wouldn’t expect it to be where it’s at. Has a cute bar, a little table in the front and some seating in the back. There was a bit of a wait after ordering our food but I must say it was all worth the wait! Our dumplings were delicious and even though the portion was small, it was just enough and really made you hungry for the main. My wife got a sizzling plate of lamb & chicken with vegetables called Chicken & Lamb Dashi and I got a Lamb Shank Mushroom! Both were delicious and cooked so well but my lamb on the mushroom dish just basically melted off the bone! It was so perfect and yummy! The restaurant has kind of an old vibe to it which feels kinda nostalgic and homely. The staff were nice and quick and mindful! All in all a great spot to eat and take someone out for dinner! Definitely coming back!
