We were first seated at a long stand alone table- where the chairs were much too low to eat comfortably at the table. We then moved to the circular booth arrangement which even if it was a bit tight, worked better!
PLEASE be careful** they charged $10 per bottle of spring water and popped two open for the table without hesitation. Seems like a small mixup on what water was asked for.
The wait time was considerable even though many dishes were ordered- what felt like 30+ minutes wait. Meanwhile, it was interesting to watch the kitchen prepare the naans through the glass window.
Food: There were a few standout dishes while others felt left behind. The naan and rotis were freshly made and couldn’t go wrong. The two standout dishes were the Goan Fish Curry, and Butter Chicken which were balanced and flavoured very well!
On the other hand, the CTM(Chicken Tikka Masala) and Kashmiri Aloo had unbalanced flavours and consistency, while with all three biryanis the rice did not seem fresh and wasn’t warm enough.
All in all, it’s a great choice to try if part of a special occasion in the area. Good location in Richmond Hill near Hwy 7! Not at the top of mind for a consistent Indian restaurant well worth the value.
The Biriyani was incredibly flavorful and hands down one of the best we’ve had in Canada. The Butter Chicken literally made our day. The combo with the naan was on a whole new level crispy, buttery, and absolutely amazing.
A special shout out to Terry, the manager, who was such an amazing human being. He treated us with so much warmth and recommended the Shahi Tukda for dessert. OMG… that was the best dessert we’ve ever had, and we even took a picture because it looked and tasted unreal.
The staff were super friendly, the atmosphere was great, and as Sri Lankans, we absolutely loved the spice balance and flavours.
Highly recommend Adrak! Best experience ever.
From the very beginning, the service was phenomenal. I worked closely with Jessica, the manager, who was incredibly thoughtful, organized, and attentive throughout the planning process. She took the time to understand our budget, dietary requirements, and the overall vision for the event, and helped me thoughtfully plan the menu and space while dealing with a personal emergency of her own.
What truly stood out was her level of care and professionalism, despite being unwell, she personally messaged me on the day of the event to check in and made sure I had a clear point of contact so everything would run smoothly. That level of accountability and kindness is rare.
On the day of the event, Manjit and the broader staff went above and beyond. They were warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to help. Everyone was willing to lend a hand, from helping with setup to ensuring service ran seamlessly throughout the evening. The food was served on time, we were given a generous portion of the restaurant, and the entire experience felt smooth, calm, and well-managed.
Jessica also made special accommodations for the children attending, arranging separate food to meet their dietary restrictions, another thoughtful detail that did not go unnoticed.
Between the exceptional hospitality, the attention to detail, and the genuine kindness of the staff, this was a truly memorable experience. I would wholeheartedly recommend Adrak to anyone looking to host a special event or enjoy a fine dining experience paired with hospitality that feels human, thoughtful, and increasingly rare these days.
The food was delicious, but the portions are small.
The tables are quite close together—I could hear the conversation at the next table.
We ordered Goan Fish Curry + Lamb Biryani + Adesso Merlot & Butter naan.
It seems there’re lots of cameras throughout the restaurant.
