As a long-time patron of Adobe, I can confidently attest that it remains my top choice for Tex-Mex in New Braunfels. The staff consistently demonstrates a warm and welcoming approach to service, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The ambiance is calming, rendering every meal a delight. Fresh chips and salsa are always served promptly upon seating, and the staff regularly checks in to ensure our needs are met. The menu showcases a variety of fresh food and drink options. Additionally, Adobe provides a private room for large events and a bar area.

Everything was good, service on point. Came to get the Tuesday special and when we got there were not peppers delivery truck was late, they apologized twice! But then while there truck arrived and quickly came to us to let us know and check if we still want the special, it was awesome!

This was my first time to Adobe Cafe and after 2 years in NB my search is over for the best Tex-Mex in town! Food was hot, steak was tender, and everything was delicious! Server was incredibly friendly – smiled like she actually enjoyed working there! Also impressed that every table was occupied, but food was delivered quickly and the place looked clean and organized!

Birthday-Cake-Bringer Diners Beware!
My family and I chose Adobe Cafe to celebrate a birthday. Unfortunately, our experience started off poorly. Before we could even say hello, the hostess immediately told us we were NOT allowed to bring in a birthday cake and followed it up with, “Didn’t you see the sign on the door?” The delivery was rude and unwelcoming, especially for first-time guests who wouldn’t necessarily know this policy. A simple, polite explanation would have gone a long way. Instead, we were made to feel uncomfortable right from the start.
When we spoke to the manager, Marcus, the policy was blamed on the health department. If that were truly the case, you’d expect every other restaurant in the area to have the exact same rule, which clearly isn’t true.
As a lifelong New Braunfels resident, this left a bad impression, and we’ll likely choose other local restaurants that are more accommodating and welcoming for celebrations.

As stated above everything is good, but it’s been better. The food quality in the past year has declined, and the prices have gone up. Some of the servers are excellent, one or two are among the best we’ve found in family restaurants in this price range. But currently, everything is good, not great. Having said that, we’ll come back because the food is fairly dependable, and the service is fast.

The first night that we came in, we were warmly greeted by our server, Caroline! She was so warm & friendly & caused us to feel so welcome; as if we were friends & not just patrons at a restaurant!
My husband ordered the chicken fried steak, almost w/hesitation, as he has tried cfs at SO many establishments offering “the best cfs”, only to be disappointed. We have only found one place that did indeed deliver on “the best cfs”, & that was the Alamo Cafe in San Antonio. Well, they have finally met their match!! Hubby was so impressed, that we have been back twice since that first night; & that’s saying alot, considering all the eateries to choose from in New Braunfels! I would like to add that the green beans were excellent as well; seasoned to perfection! Our only regret is that we live 3 hrs away, & only come once, maybe twice a year to NB. We have less than a week to stay, but I guarantee that we will be back at least once, if not twice before we go home.
Thrilled to have found our new favorite restaurant!!

The food is ALWAYS amazing and the staff are super friendly. This is my favorite restaurant and I don’t even live in NB. I come here as often as I can when visiting family. I was traveling for two months in SE Asia and this was the first stop we made when we got back to the USA. We hadn’t even been back in the USA for 24 hrs and we drove from Houston straight to Adobe. It’s that good! I highly recommend eating here!

Food is always amazing here. Chipotle beef tips and the adobe shrimp are two of my favs I’ve had so far. Service is great as well. And they just started daily lunch specials.
