I came here for Summerlicious menu. I was a bit disappointed as few days before I came to its sister restaurant. And I realized both restaurant have exact same theme, same set up, food is very much alike, some of the dishes are the same. The summerlicious menu and the food quality didn’t show how good their food actually is.
The summerlicious menu has very affordable price. As a result the quality of the dishes are not that great. The dishes is good for the price.
SERVICE: I kinda few like I didn’t spend enough here to receive an upscale dining service level. The waiter almost didn’t care about me.
VIBE: exactly the same as their sister restaurant. The place is in a small quite street so there’s not many customers especially during lunch time. I feel like the decoration and set up is way too heavy and old school.
The squid was a delicious. Portions were fair and prices felt reasonable. What really stood out was the service — attentive, friendly, and professional.
The space is comfortable, spacious yet still intimate. Overall a solid experience and I’ll definitely recommend.
The sardines (not normally something I would get) were superb! Each dish was wonderfully delicious. The piri piri shrimp, lobster bisque, octopus. All fantastic.
The seafood risotto was also amazing and rich with flavour and lots of seafood.
The house red was something we also all gravitated towards and was rich and full bodied which paired nicely with the seafood.
Would certainly recommend.
Had the Tiger Shrimp, Squid which rival the best in the city. So delicious.
The menu was packed with delicious options, and they had several strong specials of the night. The wine by bottle list was extensive, but their by the glass was smaller and all from Portugal. Our host was proactive and offered a tasting of the wine by glass that matched my typical choice.
This proactive nature was indicative of the quality care our host (and assistant servers!) provided throughout the evening. He was accommodating, patient with menu inquiries, and professional—certainly felt like a fine dining experience.
The prices were standard for this type of restaurant; the prices of the specials were not shared. In regards to wine, some prices seemed a bit higher than your typical wine shop purchase, yet still made sense for this establishment. Also note that 18% will be added to your bill if your party is 5+.
We made it difficult at the end with asking to split the tab by individual order but, yet again, they were both kind and accommodating.
A final note, at last moment we shared we were celebrating our friend’s birthday, and he brought out a Portuguese custard dessert that was phenomenal. Yes! Even if you do not like custard!
I would say some foods come with odd combinations of veggis although decent.
The bread given was a bit mid but the food itself was pretty good, a decent portion too.
(Edit: they now serve good bread)
– Salted Cod Quenelles: Really creamy interior, nice crispy exterior. Would have liked a bit of a stronger cod taste, but this was good.
– Pan Roasted Herb Crusted Salmon: Good heft to the salmon, not overly crusted, strong herb flavour, perfect pan roast. Side veggies complemented the main well.
Service is helpful and attentive. Kitchen is efficient. Prices are what prices are these days. Place is well spaced and tastefully decorated. A good dining option, especially if you love seafood.
Highly recommend the grilled squid — it’s full of flavor, with a rich aroma of garlic and olive oil.
The steak was delicious, but what impressed me even more were the fries — they stayed crispy even after soaking up the meat juices.
The risotto was cooked to the perfect al dente texture and blended beautifully with the sauce.
