I cannot recommend this place enough!!

I’m newish to the area and was recommended Adam’s by a coworker. All I can day is WOW!

First, the staff was incredibly friendly and happily gave me extra sauce when asked.

Secondly, the food was phenomenal. I ordered the Burnt Ends Sandwich and pasta salad. The ends were so juicy, I didn’t even need the extra sauce! The bun was fluffy and a good size for all the meat. I’m usually very picky about pasta salad, but this was fantastic. Fresh, crisp, and full of flavor!

Lastly, I ordered pickup which can always be a gamble. They packaged the meat seperate from the bun to keep it from getting soggy!! The quantity was perfect, just enough to completely fill the bun and have a little extra to eat on the side.

If you live in the area and haven’t tried this place yet, you are seriously missing out!

Moving reviews over from Yelp. Originally published 10/2018:

Pretty sure this is the second time I’ve tried this place. I couldn’t remember if I had been there previously or not but when I walked in this time I knew the answer was yes. Why I didn’t write a review after the last visit remains a mystery.

I was super-excited for burnt ends. Unfortunately, I was there on the wrong day for burnt ends. Instead, I ordered their special of the day: a pulled rib meat sandwich with two sides. Those were pit baked beans and house-made apple sauce. The gentleman at the counter added a couple of pieces of their house-made salami to our baskets as well so I was able to try another meat. Also, my dining guest offered up some brisket so just that fast I was able to try almost a third of their meats. In no particular order, here are my impressions:

Rib sandwich – great amount of smokiness and lightly sauced so the flavor of the meat really shined through. The bun was nothing special and neither added nor detracted from my enjoyment of the rib meat. I need to make it in there again (minus the dress shirt) to try their ribs. My guess is they will be even more impressive.

Salami – interesting consistency, almost like a bologna but a coarser grind. I found the flavor reminiscent of pastrami and a bit unusual but enjoyable. Even a couple of days later I still haven’t decided what I thought of it.

Pit beans – very sweet, thick sauce and smoky flavor. A good interpretation of a classic bbq joint side dish.

Next time, I will plan better and get there on a day when they have burnt ends. I’m guessing they are pretty amazing.

Adam’s is by far our favorite BBQ in STL. I got their salami on their salad today. Their salami is house made and has great chew and flavor. I’ve also gotten their pulled pork and turkey on the salad in the past, and they’re all wonderful.
The staff is always amazing and helpful and appreciative of their customers. The restaurant isn’t huge, but it has a great local vibe. Like all good BBQ spots, they can sell out of different food depending on the demands that day. All of their food is great though, so try something new. That’s how I fell in love with their salami!

Visitor from Chicago. Was in St. Louis 3 months ago for a doctor visit, stopped here and had a great experience, so I came back this week with the family for vacation and had to share that experience with them. The food is amazing, you cant go wrong with any of it, you have to order one of everything to make sure you try them all. Early bird gets the worm so make sure you go early enough. The owner and staff are very hospitable. You get great service while here and its something you’ll definitely admire. You’re treated as a family or friend not a stranger. Stop by Adam’s Smokehouse and enjoy an unforgettable meal!

Really solid barbecue. The turkey was excellent as well. They do this over cherry & apple wood. My favorite waa the burnt ends. Don’t sleep on the cranberry cayenne sauce!

Great feel walking in. Family owned and operated. If visiting St Louis and want to have a real bbq experience l, come here! Known for amazing ribs, if they sell out, the brisket and turkey are unique and fantastic. Thin sliced, moist and guests couldn’t decide which was best! The Smoked Salami (made in house) was awesome and made a great sandwich! They aren’t shy on the portions, and the signature beans will not disappoint for those that love them.

The food was hands down amazing, the barbecue meats were falling apart they are so tender flavorful, the sides are just as good. The salami chili is unique and one of my favorite chilis I’ve had. Small restaurant and they can run out of selections as they make everything fresh. The staff were all very welcoming and even as someone eating here from out of town they made me feel like a local diner. Would definitely recommend this place!

Just Wow!!
If anyone follows my reviews, they know our favorite places tend to be the Mom and Pop type. We’re not necessarily fans of corporate anything.
Which brings us to this little gem.
Wow were we pleasantly surprised. We were out hitting a few estate/yard sales and decided on an early lunch.
I did a little Google search and found Adam’s Smokehouse. It sounded really good and we hadn’t had BBQ in a while.
Found it easily close to the corner of Watson and Southwest.
Adam’s is small and the parking could be challenging but we were early and parked in front of the main entrance. We walked in, made our choices, and sat down at a high top.
The food came out rather quickly, and the service was outstanding. The staff was gracious and very helpful with the sauces and options of food choices.
The style of BBQ here is Memphis Dry Rub, which we both love. The Ribs were fantastic, perfect combination of tender with a slight tug off the bone. The Pulled Pork was very tender and had a great flavor. The Burnt Ends were really good, and my wife had the Burnt Ends Salad and said it was possibly the best salad she’s ever had. Outstanding! And don’t forget the Pit Beans, perfect!
We ordered more Burnt Ends, Pulled Pork, and Pit Beans for our Son and dinner later. We also had a Chocolate Chip Bar/Brownie, and it finished everything off very well.
We met Mike, the owner, and had a great conversation. What a nice guy. Great people are working here, trying hard to make your experience a great one. We really enjoyed our lunch and our time here at Adam’s Smokehouse.
We will definitely be going back anytime we crave quite possibly, “The” Best BBQ In St Louis!!
Highly Recommended-MVP!! Thanks Mike!
***Again, we stopped in for lunch. If you haven’t tried out Adam’s Smokehouse yet, you’re missing out!!! Get down there and take your family too. You won’t regret it!!! Mark The Shark
