Whether it be a place for live music, author readings, poetry nights, book signings, film showings, children’s theater, etc., our programming and outreach has come to define our greater mission: to keep the torch of the imagination lit and to use it to reveal this place called Kansas and these still unexplored Great Plains.

Great book and coffee place to hang out in. Went there for the first time today and ordered an iced chai. Was really tasty and had the right amount of flavor. My only complaint with the drink was that I had it to stay in and so they put it in a plastic cup. Like one of those cups you would get at a school cafeteria. Would be nice to have it in a glass cup or at least a nicer plastic cup since it is a more pricey place to get drinks with a more cute/classy vibe. It was nice that they have eco-friendly straws though. Stayed there for a while and read one of the books I brought. Skimmed through the books they had and a lot of them are older, but they have a large selection of books. Nice vibes and I like the lighting and plants they added. I went on a Wednesday night and they had a vinyl night at 7 PM in which they played random final songs which was unique. Would come back again!

We visited Salina and the Ad Astra bookstore four years ago. It was beautiful. We enjoyed it so much, that we talked about revisiting it. Today, we experienced the renovations. Wow! The space is open and inviting allowing a comfy vibe. The coffee is tasty and strong. Customer service is wonderful.

I loved the atmosphere! The coffee shop-bookstore concept is brilliant, definitely recommended! What would be great is if they added a wider variety of desserts to accompany the delicious coffees!

I love everything about this coffee shop/bookstore! The mocha with house made cinnamon syrup was delicious and had a cute little design on it. My husband said his pour over coffee was really good and our toddler loved her kid hot chocolate! The cinnamon roll was delightful. Our toddler loved the play area! Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area; especially if you have kiddos.

This coffee shop + bookstore rivals some of the places where I live in Kansas City. Despite being from out of town, this place made me feel so welcomed and like part of community. The staff were so friendly and attentive. LGBTQ+ friendly and vegan-friendly. We tried a latte, london fog, and the special Kernza toast with calico beans. I’m always so pleased to find a place that serves both a good coffee and tea. What a magical experience!

We are visiting from Northern California and Ad Astra reminded us of coffeehouses from our small mountain town. Great atmosphere, food and friendly barista. I love supporting local businesses too. The chai lattes were delicious as were the cookies.

The cutest coffee shop in Salina! So happy we stopped in. The atmosphere here is welcoming and cozy. My parents and I ordered iced coffees and my sister an iced chai, we all said our drinks were delicious! Employees were very kind and I was even given the oat milk to pour myself which I loved. It’s the little things 🙂 We are visiting from Florida and we don’t see a lot of coffee shops like this one very often. I adored all the plants and books they had to look at too. Totally recommended to anyone visiting or just stopping by town, you’re also supporting a small business!

Was recommended this place and was hyped up. But that’s the privilege with hype for me. It never meets my expectations. Great place. Wish it was bigger. I appreciate the mission of the owner. I appreciate this place existing. It’s heart warming to have a space for reading, art, and culture. I was disappointed in my coffee though. Ordered a flat white. Half my drink was wasted and spilled out when made. And the portions for the cost were also disappointing. But otherwise it was great and it’s a place i hope to frequent.

Long road trips need coffee! Thank goodness this place is just off I-35. Cute place to walk around. Lots of coffee options and bakery options. I think they could make their coffee stronger, it had a tea flavor to it though it was good flavor. They had posters talking about poetry and open mike nights and other events they had there. Overall seems like a fun place to go if you are a resident.
