It isn’t everyday that you drive by a building that is painted to resemble the country the owner is from. But that is what you see when you drive by one of Portland’s nighttime landmarks, The Acropolis. The Acropolis, or known by as the A-Crop, is one of Portland’s oldest Gentleman’s Clubs.

I’ve been coming to Acropolis for years but last night might have been my last visit. Took my fiancé and two of our friends there (who have never been) and wanted to have a great time enjoying food and drinks.
The waitress immediately got irritated because we ordered our drinks at the bar and not through her. Once our food did arrive though it seemed like maybe things were back on track.
A dancer we were hoping to see showed up and so we all went to the stage to enjoy the show…maybe 3 feet away from our seat. Well the waitress decided it was time to take away our food that we were still eating (one plate had maybe about a quarter of it left and one was over half full of food still)
Once we arrived back to our spots I asked here what happened to our food and she retorted that she thought we had left. I told her that wasn’t possible considering I saw her see us at the stage. She then mustered up all the rage of a child who had been caught in a lie and snapped “you only had crumbs left what’s the matter?!”. Told her we obviously weren’t finished with our meal and she then said “I’ll get the manager if you want” and I happily accepted.
Manager apparently equated to bouncer and I had security come up to me. I explained the situation and he agreed that the waitress was handling this incorrectly.
She smugly came back and thinking she had accomplished something and I told her I wanted a manager. As her face briefly dropped in a moment of failure she told me the bartender was the manager. Perfect. Went to speak to the bartender and once I finally made it up to her she came up with the same childish behavior and started accusing me of being aggressive. Told her no, the waitress doesn’t want to own up to her mistake and is being abrasive and the bartender walked away without letting me say anything else.
I closed out my tab and and then she demanded a tip. I told her no and she started to argue about wanting a tip.
While this is going on my fiancé and friends had been sitting at the table we had been at all night and noticed something moving around their feet. Lo and behold there was a mouse just running around inside the club.
We made our departure from the club and I checked with security again and found out the bartender wasn’t a manager either. The waitress had lied to me twice with such brazen dismissal of the respect to the customers. I’ll be advising my other local groups of the experience and advising them that acropolis might be on the decent if this is how they are choosing to staff and operate
Tuesday dancers.
