It isn’t everyday that you drive by a building that is painted to resemble the country the owner is from. But that is what you see when you drive by one of Portland’s nighttime landmarks, The Acropolis. The Acropolis, or known by as the A-Crop, is one of Portland’s oldest Gentleman’s Clubs.

Traveled the world with the military, been to strip clubs all over. This is not my first time going and I know how one needs to act and behave. However, seems the staff here doesn’t.

I’ve been coming to Acropolis for years but last night might have been my last visit. Took my fiancé and two of our friends there (who have never been) and wanted to have a great time enjoying food and drinks.

The waitress immediately got irritated because we ordered our drinks at the bar and not through her. Once our food did arrive though it seemed like maybe things were back on track.

A dancer we were hoping to see showed up and so we all went to the stage to enjoy the show…maybe 3 feet away from our seat. Well the waitress decided it was time to take away our food that we were still eating (one plate had maybe about a quarter of it left and one was over half full of food still)

Once we arrived back to our spots I asked here what happened to our food and she retorted that she thought we had left. I told her that wasn’t possible considering I saw her see us at the stage. She then mustered up all the rage of a child who had been caught in a lie and snapped “you only had crumbs left what’s the matter?!”. Told her we obviously weren’t finished with our meal and she then said “I’ll get the manager if you want” and I happily accepted.

Manager apparently equated to bouncer and I had security come up to me. I explained the situation and he agreed that the waitress was handling this incorrectly.

She smugly came back and thinking she had accomplished something and I told her I wanted a manager. As her face briefly dropped in a moment of failure she told me the bartender was the manager. Perfect. Went to speak to the bartender and once I finally made it up to her she came up with the same childish behavior and started accusing me of being aggressive. Told her no, the waitress doesn’t want to own up to her mistake and is being abrasive and the bartender walked away without letting me say anything else.

I closed out my tab and and then she demanded a tip. I told her no and she started to argue about wanting a tip.

While this is going on my fiancé and friends had been sitting at the table we had been at all night and noticed something moving around their feet. Lo and behold there was a mouse just running around inside the club.

We made our departure from the club and I checked with security again and found out the bartender wasn’t a manager either. The waitress had lied to me twice with such brazen dismissal of the respect to the customers. I’ll be advising my other local groups of the experience and advising them that acropolis might be on the decent if this is how they are choosing to staff and operate

Acropolis is there when you need them. After a bender week of partying from Sunday to Sunday, I did not feel like cooking and wanted a greasy burger (or gyro in my case), this place hits the spot. Decent size, cooked well, but fries are additional

The worst steak I have ever had there. I ordered the ribeye. It was tough. She overcharged us on the baked potato. Charged us for loaded and we both only had butter. Always had good steak there before.
Tuesday dancers.

My friend told me we were going to go eat at a steakhouse so he was not lying. But upon entering the building, I quickly realized this is not a regular steakhouse haha. That being said, the food here was pretty damn good. I had the steak bites and my buddy had the ribeye and we were both pretty happy with what we ordered. It did take a bit long to come out though, I don’t know if they have only one cook in the back or something but it felt like we waited an eternity. I get it though, there were other people in there who also ordered food and we all know how long it takes to cook steak. I would definitely come back though just to try some of the other stuff on the menu. I get the feeling it is probably all really good.

It’s been years since i’ve been there because we left oregon I wish they would bottle their dipping sauce for their steak Bites and sale it I used to would get and pay for an extra cup of it. Because it’s so good. Just an idea cause then I’ll have my son. Pick me up some and mail it to me. Or I’ll buy a bunch when I come up to visit next time to Oregon. But I wish they would bottle and sell the steak. Bite red dipping sauce? That stuff is the best, or if we could find the recipe for it.

Acropolis Steakhouse is ALWAYS a go to spot for excellent food and service. They have a walk up window for orders to go, or if you have a few more dollars and time to spare, grab a table inside for an adventurous time you won’t soon forget…. Easily the best steak around the Portland area for the flavor, price, and entertainment.

Known this place for a while for its entertainment and food. Went on a week day and the place was relatively quiet. The food is very reasonably price but the house special steak is always badly cooked. The men’s bathroom needs urgent repairs!

The steaks are great, the girls are pretty, the staff is attentive and polite. There is really good security so you can be at ease and enjoy your evening.

The food was good but charging $5 cover on a Sunday when there is only 1 other person there is ridiculous. The food was definitely good and entertainers were 2. The service took forever and was long drawn out I was tipping 2 bucks a song but was scolded by the bartender for not tipping. I don’t think I ll be coming back. There are so many other clubs where this is not a problem.
