Update for January 2021…Not many restaurants can consistently have fantastic food and the indoor seating is spread out so no worries about being on top of other diners . Support local businesses, more important now more than ever.
I got the oceano burrito. It’s my favorite thing on the menu and I get it every single time I come in. I’m still not entirely sure what I was served today. The burrito which has increased in price by 25% since I was just there a few months ago is supposed to have fish, scallops and shrimp. My burrito was filled solely with this weird brown meat that looked like shredded chicken but tasted like expired overly salted canned tuna. I ate one bite and definitely paid for it with an hours long stomach ache. I called the waiter over and was polelitely like hey something’s off here and this is not what I ordered. They preceded to argue with me that the clearly wrong and most likely expired burrito was the right burrito and claimed that if they remade it, it would be the same thing. Finally, I just sent it back and decided to not order anything else. My friend who is also a long time customer decided to eat her meal but ultimately regretted it. She ended up with undercooked, mushy chimichangas that had barely any meat in them. She made it less than 1/4 the way through before just giving up and dismissing it as disgusting. She also echoed my opinion that the meat definitely tasted off. They also served us stale tortilla chips and didn’t bring us even one drink refill even though they charge a whopping $5 for a soft drink.
I don’t know if this was a weird fluke. I don’t know if it’s new recipes or new kitchen staff. I don’t know if it’s a case of a rude waiter not wanting to fix mistakes. All I know is I won’t be returning anytime soon for a rancid mystery meat burrito.
