I have really enjoyed the food here. Love their salsa bar. I am vegetarian and they have a vegan/vegetarian menu. This last time I got the street taco plate and it was delicious. Their horchata is also tasty.

Amazing food and service! So many salsas to try and excellent fresh chips to go with. Tortillas were authentically homemade fresh to order, fajitas and the chicken were wonderful, and the server was so kind. Will come again! ✨

Food was ok. Pictures are the nachos and pupusas. Pretty big portions, but really expensive. Service was absolutely awful. Really slow, we told her we want to order, then didn’t see her again for 10 minutes. Server knocked over a half full drink, breaking the glass, left glass shards on the floor, and didn’t offer to remake the drink?! We told her we had a 25% off Entertainment Coupon, they acted very sketchy about it, then only gave us 10% off (said they had recently decided not to be in the coupon book anymore, yet the coupon is not expired). There is also a hidden 5% credit card fee, on a $100 dinner, that’s annoying, since most people are not carrying that much cash. Not a fun relaxing night out, and way too overpriced. Never coming back.

I don’t normally write reviews, but this place blew my mind. I had three friends from Vancouver who were in town for a few days. They didn’t have any legit Mexican places back home and really wanted legit Mexican food.
I work around the Greenwood area and would often pass by Luna Azul (now rebranded as Abuelita’s Kitchen). So I was like why not give it a shot. I walked in with the expectation of expensive prices and small portions. Boy was I wrong…
First we were greeted by a very friendly staff who sat us down in a very vibrant room filled with local decor. The server came out with three plates of food filled to the edge. I can’t remember the last time I’ve had legit authentic Mexican food, but this hit the spot. They also have a neat salsa bar for all spice tolerance, I loved their zucchini one.
The only minor issue I had was the lack of pictures on the menu. I didn’t even know what I ordered until it arrived, but was blown away nevertheless.

We ordered the chips and guac and a chicken burrito. They made us a fresh batch of chips because I am a vegetarian and the other chips are not vegetarian (fried in communal oil with meat). We really appreciated this. The beans and rice are vegan. They had a lovely selection of meat dishes, vegetarian dishes, and vegan dishes. The guacamole was fresh and delicious. There was a self serve salsa bar. The salsa we had was great. My husband enjoyed his burrito! The service was wonderful.

I got the green Encheladas to go … they were just ok for the 18 – 20 $ price tag. DID NOT even come with chips. Was ok, but I likely won’t be returning as felt nickel/dimed for average mex food. One bright spot was the salsa bar … but no chips?

My goto for Mexican food in the north end, good quality ingredients and tasty food, plus it’s certified family owned. Staff is super friendly, same people every time

Really good food, and the best salsa bar in the area. They usually have 8 different options, all of them good. There is nothing too non-standard here, but they execute it well, and I’d say their gorditas are especially good. They have a couple vegetarian protein options and are generally happy to make modifications to menu items as you like. Higher prices than some places, but also really sizable portions – the main entrees are almost always two meals for me, so the price reflects what you get in my opinion. In terms of ambience, pretty much everything in that strip of Greenwood suffers from being an ancient building the landlord has clearly not taken the best care of, and they are no exception, but are perfectly homey and not unpleasant or anything.

Delicious local spot – one of those underrated, little-known gems you want to keep a secret but deserves to be known! We loved their fresh food and incredible handmade tortillas, salsa bar with lots of heat and flavor profiles, and yummy margaritas. I’m vegan and appreciated the Cielo y Tierra tacos with seasoned yam, beet, carrot, and black bean mix. Even the rice and beans were better than a regular Mex restaurant, and our kid loved the food too. Easygoing, family-friendly atmosphere, locally owned, amazing food… we will be regulars!
