The first cup in every coffee brewing process is called ABOL and it is very bold and with the best aroma. Ethiopian coffees are world known for its minimal or zero acidity level. This coffee is so good and unique. I just drink it black, it’s so smooth. The service is personable. I’m greeted as I walk in and although I’ve only been a couple of times, the owner always recognizes me.

Lovely little spot, I had the iced dalgona coffee with a samosa however Tar, the owner, gave me a free sample of the dabo kollo! The iced coffee was delicious, the food was great, and Tar was very friendly; I will definitely be coming back here for more!

This was my wife and I third time going to Abol. The fava beans, cracked egg and chickpea stew were all so delicious. But the star of the show is their clay pot coffee. The presentation and coffee service was elegant and the tables and decor was very authentic and charming. All three times we have been there has been no customers. It is such a shame that Starbucks and other big chain crappy coffee have lines out the door and horrible customer service. No excuse when there are so many amazing local coffee houses with a plethera of ethnic charm. Support local coffee and give this place a try. You won’t be disappointed.

I finished my Jebena Coffee at 2pm at the latest and I was up until 4am without a whiff of fatigue.
I went grocery shopping right after, took 3 trips up 2 floors, was active all day, but lying in bed my heart wasn’t racing, I wasn’t irritable, I wasn’t even loopy due to being up at 4am, I felt normal, joyful even, and entirely amused at how i have so much tranquil energy I could probably take the English portion of the ACT at 4am years out of high school then run a lap on a track and end with a cartwheel. I cannot do cartwheels but I knew that night I could’ve. That coffee didn’t just give me wings, it gave me claws, a beak, and it opened a library of interpretive mating dances reserved only for boy birds that underwent years of reproductive evolution.
And it was delicious. Rich, full, bold, pure. It was fantastic black, with sugar, with creamer, with creamer and sugar… Abol is Ethiopian coffee and after traveling to Guatemala and Colombia and drinking their special brew, Abol reminded me of the one true source. The true coffee daddy.
I may be verbose but I don’t exercise it carelessly, that Jebena coffee deserved it. And while I cannot guarantee that exact experience for everyone due to infinite variations of chemical, physical, environmental, biological, and literary factors, I cannot keep this adventure to myself. Even if you fall asleep at 9pm, you would at least have tasted a fantastic cup of coffee.

So…. This is an awesome place with a lot quietly going on. Mention you found this place in the Louisville cafe passport and you might get a 10% discount. We found them there so you kinda did as well.
Abol meaning was described to us by the fellla playing guitar, as the first cup of coffee ceremony. Overall just an interesting place to spend a few moments of your life.
The coffee was delicious, very flavorful and intense. The recommended drink Dolgona whipped coffee give it a try we really enjoyed it.

The person (I assume owner) was very kind and helpful. I ordered the iced dalgona coffee and it was incredible! You pay after service so I thought that was very accommodating to the customer and not very common. The atmosphere was very cute as well! A Louisville gem for sure!!
