Fun experience; great service and lots of variety for food and drinks. Better to come around 7:00pm to 8:00pm if you want to avoid crowds.
They have a special on the weekends for a free sake bomb if you get a hibachi meal after 8.
Great spot to eat in Greenwich whether you’re with family or need a quick bite.

If you’re looking for an honest experience at Abis Restaurant, I suggest getting the experience firsthand. I’ve been there myself, and my experience was completely real — in the best way.

From the moment you walk in, everyone is welcoming, attentive, and kind. You can tell they care about the guests, not just about “doing their job.” Service felt warm, not forced — the kind where you feel comfortable asking questions and taking your time.

The food is where Abis really shines. Every dish we had was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. You can taste the quality and the care in the preparation. The menu offers comfort and creativity at the same time, which isn’t easy to pull off. Nothing felt rushed or careless — it felt like food made by people who take pride in what they serve.

The hibachi experience is a highlight all on its own. The chef didn’t just cook- he put on a full show. It was fun, interactive, and entertaining without taking away from the quality of the food. Watching the precision, energy, and skill on the grill while the flames go up adds such a great atmosphere to the meal. And the food coming off the grill? Perfectly seasoned, cooked just right, and served hot and fresh.

Of course, Chef Angelo deserves recognition for the passion and leadership that clearly comes from the kitchen. But it’s also important to acknowledge the other hibachi chefs working that same day. Watching them cook for other tables, you could see the same level of talent, focus, and passion in their performances. It’s clear that the quality and showmanship at Abis isn’t just one person — it’s a team of skilled chefs who truly care about their craft.

And Jay, the owner, deserves recognition too. It’s rare to see an owner so present and involved. You can tell he truly values both his customers and his team, which says a lot about the heart behind this place.

Overall, Abi’s isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a place where hospitality, experience, and quality matter. I’ll definitely be coming back and would encourage others to experience it for themselves.

Chef Angelo was amazing! He’s really funny and clearly passionate about what he does. He really puts on a great show while cooking, which made the whole experience so fun. We had the best time dining with the family.

The food was delicious and absolutely worth the price, with so many options to choose from. That’s why we keep coming back! On top of that, the owner was incredibly kind and welcoming. Highly recommend this hibachi spot if you’re looking for great food and a fun experience.

A must-visit spot on Greenwich Avenue

Abis Japanese Restaurant is truly a gem on Greenwich Avenue and delivers an outstanding dining experience from start to finish. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality that immediately sets the tone.

Chef Angelo, the hibachi chef, is phenomenal. His skill, precision, and engaging presence turn dinner into an experience—not just a meal. Watching him work the grill is both entertaining and impressive, and the flavors are spot-on. Every dish is perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and incredibly fresh. His passion and talent are evident in every detail.

The wait staff are attentive, friendly, and professional, making sure everything runs smoothly without ever feeling rushed. The manager also deserves special recognition—welcoming, attentive, and clearly invested in creating a great experience for every guest.

Abis perfectly blends excellent food, top-tier hibachi talent, and heartfelt hospitality. Whether you’re there for a fun night out, a celebration, or simply a great meal, you’ll leave feeling taken care of and eager to return. Highly recommended.

Best Japanese restaurant in Greenwich! Our family always has a great time here. The hibachi is delicious and the sushi is super fresh. It’s hard to find a sushi spot run by a Japanese chef, and this place is truly a gem. We keep coming back!

An unforgettable hibachi experience from start to finish. The chef’s performance was exceptional, and the food quality matched the show. Both the hibachi and sushi were top-notch — truly among the best in Connecticut. ( chef is Japanese! ) With its long-standing history, this restaurant continues to exceed expectations.

I LOVED Abis… This restaurant has raised their pricing 2 times in 1 month, and frankly the food quality has dropped since. The last time I ordered they changed their noodles to a lower quality as well. My 14 dollar lunch is now 20 bucks… Doesn’t fit the budget when youre going 2-4 times a week and the price almost doubles.

I’ve never been in the restaurant so can’t speak to the service and atmosphere. I’ve only ever ordered from UberEats. The onion soup is very good. I will continue to order but not their raw sushi. First time I ordered it was great. My last two recent orders, the sushi had a strong fishy smell to it which is not typical of fresh clean sushi. It should not have that strong of a scent, it should have very little or almost no scent. Nothing happened with the first fishy scented sushi but this time (most recent order) I got food poisoning. Vibrio parahaemolyticus found in seafood. I’ll stick to their cooked food from now on.
