Colonial-era tavern offering contemporary American cuisine on its patio or in its cozy dining room.

Great atmosphere, lots of room to spread out.
Outdoor dining on a beautiful Fall afternoon was a lot of fun.
Great menu, burger was delicious, beet salad with flank steak was also excellent.
A little pricey, but good value.
Our server John was very good.
Would definitely go back!

This was a first-time visit for the 4 of us. It was our daughter’s birthday. We told the restaurant, but no piece of cake or candle. We have been to the sister restaurant, the Mill on the River in So. Windsor, and have had wonderful meals and service there. The menu here is much more limited. It is a very charming place, and it was full. Service was very, very slow. The server was pleasant enough. We waited the longest time to place our drink orders. It took a long time to get our food. This is the biggest complaint we had. I had the shrimp and scallop fra diavolo, which was fine. My wife and our daughter-in-law liked their risotto and seafood dishes. The birthday girl ordered the surf and turf, and I thought the steak portion was on the small side. The colossal shrimp cocktail was excellent, as was the crispy pork belly. We did not get dessert. In summary, the atmosphere is nice, but we prefer the Mill on the River more.

Abigail’s is perfect for atmosphere. Historic looking upper class, but still very accessible. New Year’s Eve reservation for 7:30pm but not seated till 8:00pm. Front desk area was super crowded and uncomfortable waiting. Once seated it also took a while for orders to finally get placed. Food in general was very good.

We held a Baptism Brunch upstairs at Abigail’s Grill and Wine Bar in September and had an amazing time. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the staff were all so kind – even with a few little ones running around! Kassi Elston (Restaurant Manager/Event Coordinator) was absolutely wonderful to work with. She was so attentive and has a perfect personality for this role. We came from out of town and she was very accommodating to my requests. I would recommend this restaurant for events, anniversary dinners, or just a weekend brunch outing. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town. A big thanks to Kassi, the staff who made our day such a great memory (fantastic bartenders and wait staff), and the chef and team who had us practically rolling out of there!!

We’re visiting from out of state and wanted a unique place to try, and the layout of the restaurant is very nice. However, the service was extremely slow. I know they are quite busy, but I own a restaurant and none of my servers would give the sort of service that we received. The waitress was sweet, but she was slow. She took our drink order, brought the drinks, and then we waited 15 minutes for her to come take our order for our appetizers and meals. 10 minutes later, we got the bread rolls. So about 25 minutes before we got any sort of food related service. The food was decent, but if you’re from a state that seasons their food well you would find their food quite bland. Unfortunately, it seemed the pizza was the best item on the menu and even that’s pushing it a bit. If we lived in the area, I don’t think I’d give this place a second chance given how expensive it is.

Abigail’s is one of our favorite restaurants! While we have been here before with my family, friendly outings, or a fun lunch date with my husband, this evening was reserved for a special birthday dinner.
From the start, we had a warm and personable welcome from the person who seated us. Our waiter, John, was phenomenal! Our water and drink glasses were never empty, and he was vigilant of our food allergies and even changed a part of my son’s meal after checking with the cooks. He even offered to take a table shot picture of us when my birthday dessert arrived. They even put a candle and wrote “Happy Birthday” on the plate! (When we come back again, we’ll definitely make it a point to see John). Additionally, we were visited by one of the lovely managers who has a son of her own. The universal language is food and she was very engaging and made our sons feel welcomed.
The food dishes were consistently delicious and flavorful as always, presented well, and paired with a combination of a vast array of autum vegetables. Their French onion soup was one of the best and enjoyed thoroughly by my son and husband. The atmosphere overall has consistently been warm and inviting each time we have dined at Abigail’s. However, I felt extra special for my birthday dinner. Thank you all!

We enjoyed the Sunday brunch. There was plenty of food, breakfast, one brunch cocktail, and a desert. The server was exceptional and even provided us with a tour of the upstairs area and the old school phone booth. He also provided us with some of the history which was very entertaining. I ordered a bloody Mary, but it could have been better… Infused vodka? Piece of bacon? That would have been the icing on the cake! Noise level was appropriate to give it that Sunday brunch vibe…

5.17.23 Every time we drive by, we see the parking lot packed, so we decided to try this restaurant. The last time I was here was over 15 years ago. Staff was very polite, and service was quick and efficient. We were greeted, seated, and had our drinks very quickly. The apps and entrees came out fast, hot, and the presentation was good. The flavors of the dishes were superb. We asked for one dish to be spicier upon ordering, and it came out exactly how we requested it. The rolls were soft, and everything was just delightful. This is a wonderful place for a good meal, work meeting, date night, to celebrate an event, just about anything. We were also told this place may be haunted. Cool! On Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, they offer half-price bottles of wine and prefix meal options. So again, it’s a great reason to go back.

Very pleasant and professional staff; none of this “I’m Amber and I’ll be your server today” business. Some of the dishes were excellent, in particular the crab cakes and the salads that we tried. The seafood tastes fresh. On the other hand, the desserts were not impressive.
