When we saw that a steak with fries and no salad was $70 we started to leave, now I wish we had. If they were amazing steaks then it would have been worth it but they were not!! Very tough and full of gristle. The potato wedge “specialty” was very dry. And, the place is so dark that you can hardly read the menu. We spent $200 for food that was not good at all. Our waiter was great but didn’t make up for the quality of food. Save your money!!

Awesome! We went for my birthday . We got scallops and prime rib. Very cheap, $75 for 2. We got a free dessert since it was my birthday. We felt like we were on the Sopranos. Corner booth!

Great service, waiter was very professional and just overall great! Horrible food though and definitely not worth the price! Especially for the many different frozen seafood choices they have. NY strip steak was inedible as it was very undercooked and tasted like the kitchen ( meaning the kitchen could use cleaning) Very disappointing as I’ve heard many great things things about this place. Also the place is pitch black once inside so it is hard to see menus. Will not be returning.

We’re from out of town and selected Aberdeen Barn based solely on open table ratings – it was excellent! Driving up we were a bit worried – it’s not in the cute part of town, it’s by the highway between the budget chain motels and a gas station. From the outside it looks cute but dated. Once we were inside that was all forgotten. The ambiance is rustic, charming, romantic, dark. We took off one star for ambiance because it was almost too dark – our middle aged eyes struggled slightly with the menu. LOL. We started with the house special clams casino and they did not disappoint. There are lots of other apps we would have loved to try as well! My husband had the prime rib – he ordered the standard cut and it was the thickest, juiciest cut of prime rib I’ve ever seen. I can’t even imagine what the thick cut is like! I had the lamb chops and they were amazing. We finished with the chocolate lava cake – not that we had room for it but the sweet was a nice finish to a rich meal. Wine list and service were also excellent. Highly recommend!

My husband and I enjoyed an absolutely wonderful experience. The staff is super friendly and the food was amazing. The scallops and chicken were perfect. They made us feel special on our anniversary.

Great old school steak house in Charlottesville VA. Went with my dad and had a great time catching up. Our server had been there 41 years. The house prime rib was juicy and tasty. Bring your wallet 🙂

We have been coming to Aberdeen Barn for 25 years. As always the service we receive and atmosphere was top notch and that’s why we continue to give 5 stars. The reason why the food rated 3 stars was b/c the broccoli sides (3 sides) were tough to eat, entree scallops were undercooked and entree fried shrimp were over cooked. Everything else was superb! Marcus (who is an old friend of my husband’s) and his son made this visit the stellar experience we look forward to. (Inside joke but the Barn Burners were off limits to Shannon tonight as my parents were present….(lol)… And we were celebrating our daughter’s graduation tonight) Thank you Aberdeen Barn, Marcus and staff for another memorable experience. We will see you next time! Cheers

Always liked your restaurant. Maybe the times are changing but I couldn’t find the same atmosphere and the service we used to received back in the day. I hate to leave your fine establishment with a feeling of, “Not like used to be, run of the mill expensive steak house”. You are good but not the best anymore. But you can be with a bit of old school training and personal attention to guest interactions.

Kathleen was literally the best waitress we’ve ever had! She had amazing recommendations, was super attentive (even with multiple tables of 4+ parties), and so kind. She made us laugh and the service was so quick. Not to mention, the food was absolutely delicious. We’re from Raleigh but will absolutely come here again and request Kathleen when we come back
