If I could give more than 5 stars I would!! I absolutely LOVE the people that work here but also the donuts are great too! Apple Fritters are to die for! I’ve never had a bad experience at the North Port or Port Charlotte location.

So, at 5:30 am on a Saturday, I drive 30 minutes from Venice, passing all other doughnut shops, to get some of those wonderful APPLE FRITTERS. Arrived at 6:03 am, looked in the show case and there were NO APPLE FRITTERS on display. I told the girl it was my first time visiting the store , where are the fritters? She said (although we open at FIVE AM 5:00am) we don’t have any…. And oh, by the way,,,, even if we did have some, you can’t have any , because I have to fill to go orders first. WHAT???? I drive 30 minutes, get there 1 hour after opening, ON SATURDAY, and they don’t have any available for sale!! I do not have any advise , to anyone, regarding when they would be available for sale. Best of luck…… Very nice place otherwise. The girl was very nice as well.

This was the 1st time we went to the one in NP, we love the one in PC.
We went Saturday 21, the lady at the front counter was very disorganized, and using paper to grab donuts and not gloves. I don’t know why I did not say anything when we were there. They were really busy (understandable) so no donuts were dressed with frosting. That is not the problem the problem is when they were making them they were being so sloppy and because of that when she was grabbing donuts from tray to box since she was using paper she kept touching them. There was a group at the counter having inappropriate conversations and the workers were also engaging in those conversations. It was just awful experience when we got home we threw all the donuts away. 🙁

I have had Apple Fritter around the globe. Not all the fritters are the same. Abbe’s Donut Nook is on point. As you can see 1 didn’t make it home in full. Look at the size of the fritters. Glassed with a perfect crunch, followed by a soft center, and look at the size of the apple hunks. WOW! These are. A must have. Be sure to get there early as these don’t last long.

Be careful with the price they charge you, especially on days when management isn’t around. I went in the morning of New Years Eve. There was only one older woman working. She was hacking all over the place. I bought 8 donuts and total was $22.00 and when I questioned her she said all cinnamon buns and cream filled with icing are 3.00 each. Only glazed and round powdered crème filled were 2.00. I looked at chalk board but no prices were on board. I was just there 4 weeks earlier and I know prices have gone up, but not 35-40%.

I always have such a great experience at Abbe’s in North Port. The woman who works there is consistently friendly, welcoming, and never makes me feel like I’m being a bother—even when I ask for something a little custom, like a raspberry-filled donut with nothing on the outside. She always makes it with a smile, and if there’s ever been a mix-up in the past, she’s quick to make it right without hesitation.
I actually find myself driving out of my way sometimes to come here instead of going somewhere closer, just because I know I’ll be treated kindly and leave with a good vibe along with my donuts. That kind of service really matters.
The only thing I wish is that the North Port location stayed open as late as some others, because it would make it even easier to stop by more often. But either way, this location is always worth the trip for both the service and the sweets. Highly recommend!

Delicious! Abby’s generously donated 100 donuts to our Beta Sigma sorority event at Venice Isle Estates (all proceeds from Beta Sigma events go directly to cancer research). The donuts were a huge hit, with people saying they’re worth the drive.
