The place is quite centrally located but very well decorated. Vibe is really nice.
We ordered vegetarian gyoza, thai red curry, edamame.
The gyoza was really nice and edamame’s too. The red thai curry was okayish, its quite watery. Thai tea was bit different but flavourful.
One time visit for sure✨

Good location, decent food
I liked the pork buns and sizzling duck
The spicy Thai rice noodle dish had corn kernels in which I thought was strange
I had to remove a star bc the main server used the same gloves to bus tables with cleaning solution, play on her phone, take orders, and deliver hot dishes to the table – which was unsettling

There’s no trip to NYC without trying the food there. So, we had about 3 hours this time and were looking for a good place. Tried Thai this time and we were not disappointed. Good portion, great price and very neat ambience. Service was very good too. They only have about 20 seats or so. Hence I assume take out is their forte but we were happy sitting down and eating. We got take out for the rest of the family as well!

Got take out. They have weird canister take out boxes where you open it like spam. You can’t really save your leftovers for later because the lid can’t be popped back on. It’s good food. But yeah I don’t eat all my pad thai in one seating at work. I’d like to save it for later when I get home. But couldn’t do that today, so had to toss the leftovers because there was no way to store it in the fridge with the top open.

Abaya is a delightful, cozy restaurant with fresh, flavorful food coupled with pleasant service.
On this visit I had their Thai Dumplings appetizer followed by the Chicken with Basil Chili Sauce. The Basil Chili sauce was appropriately spicy and they had additional spice options at the table if you wanted to crank it up.
Portion sizes were good and pricing was fitting to the meal.
I saved this in my list of restaurants to visit again. Looking forward to other Thai dishes and especially trying their Mango Sticky Rice next time.

Came here with my friend for dinner. I had the Panang Curry and he had the Tom Yum Fried Rice. I can’t speak for him, but the Panang Curry was so delicious. The portion I had was also very big, so I had some leftover to take home. Would not recommend if you can’t handle spice, but I found it especially delightful, even though I was sweating like crazy haha :)) the service was pretty quick since there weren’t many people in the restaurant. It is quite small and has a cozy atmosphere.

The food is delicious – we ordered sets of dim sum, papaya salad and tom yum fried rice ( all authentic and tasty ).
However the service is poor! At the beginning they treated us normal till we asked for the bill. We thought of tipping decent amount but the way the lady ( waitress ) demanded the tip was horrible – she was very rude and aggressive! She was asking for tip like a beggar!! That made me lose my generosity and I ended up Not tipping.
FIY – waitressing is your job Lady, you got paid for that. You are not doing us any favour because we paid for what we ate. So never ever treat customers that way again!!

Stopped by hoping for some good Thai beef soup on a cold evening to help fight off the crud. Started off with papaya salad which is usually pretty hard to mess up. The papaya was sliced way too thick (should be shredded) and was not crushed using a mortar and pestle so it was way too hard to eat. It also was lacking any flavor other than fish sauce. Then the Thai beef soup was not Thai nor beef. It was a vegetable broth that they just threw in some cooked beef and meatballs. Not even close to a Thai beef soup, other than having the correct rice noodles. Maybe it was an off night, or maybe I just picked the two worse, non authentic Thai dishes they offer, but all I know is that it was probably the worst Thai food I’ve ever tried. And my mother is Thai, so I’ve eaten a lot of Thai food. I definitely will not be back.

We ordered pad Thai as take out and when we finally opened up the bag, it came out as a can. The can was fully sealed. This isn’t $18.50 worth of pad Thai, and I’m pretty sure it went bad, as it was upsetting our stomachs.
