With a view over Alaska’s grand landscapes, guests of aBar are encouraged to savor the little things. After a day of exploration, settle at the bar or tuck into a booth to experience the warm hospitality and nostalgia of an ever-present sense of adventure. An elevated sports bar, aBar guests can expect traditional American fare, their favorite sports team “on tap,” and mountain views. aBar is located on the 3rd floor of Alyeska resort. Previously, Aurora Bar & Grill, the restaurant has undergone a complete renovation. We look forward to sharing this new space with guests new and old.

Amazing value for the money! I saw some recent negative reviews about service, but whatever changed with management has definitely made a difference. Our experience was excellent. Spencer at the bar took exceptional care of our group—quick service, fast food delivery, and genuinely attentive hospitality. The change deserves to be recognized!

The atmosphere is pretty whack. They play this odd music to try and make it trendy…we call it Zoolander music, it’s just different music with a weird beat/ a weird tempo. Too modern, it would be nice to have that classic “Alaska ski lodge” vibe. Instead it seems cold, modern and the drinks are $21/ea. $21 is steep since the cocktails are average and it’s not a legit cocktail bar. The staff is slow. Last three times I’ve been there, it takes a good 10-15 minutes to see my drink is empty and ask if I’d like another. Typical Alaskan service with twice the price lol

So disappointed in our meal here. The bbq sauce on the ribs was so intensely spicy and the cottage pie very boring and unseasoned. We were asked how our meals were and responded with “ok”. Waitress didn’t ask for clarification on that. I guess ok food is ok with them. Sorry but can’t recommend. It does have a great view for drinks, though.

We ate dinner here. The food was okay! The dessert was AWFUL! $13 for 7 pieces of popcorn with white chocolate and dark chocolate “drizzle.” The popcorn was stale and I am not exaggerating it was 7 tiny pieces of popcorn.

We ordered some appetizers and they came out fairly quickly, however, it tool over an hour for our meals to come to table. They came only afyer I mentioned something to a different staff member because our waiter was horrible. I had to go ask for ketchup that never came the first time. 2 other tables came in after us and we’re served their meals before us but when confronted about wait, they said it was staffing issues. Food wasn’t bad but service was terrible for the price one pays.

I have lived in AK for years, but I had never been to Aurora Bar and Grill until today. I will definitely be back! The lunch menu is great and the food was out of this world. Dad and I ordered the Portobello Sandwich and the Dijon Chicken Club. Both sandwiches were top notch but the Portobello Sandwich was the best I have ever had. Portions were large, the prices were very reasonable and the view of the mountain, trams, and the lodge were good too. The table next to us ordered pizzas and I will definitely be checking those out in the future!!

ETA: this place changed when the name changed to aBar. The service is slow, the food is mediocre, and the price is way too high. It’s a shame, we loved coming here before they updated it and now I can’t see us returning.
The Aurora Bar and Grill is our main place to eat during our stay. Of course we like the convenience of being at the hotel, but the staff are always friendly and quick regardless of how busy they are, the food is fresh and delicious, and they have a great drink variety to help wind down at the end of the night.

The cocktails were good. Friendly staff. Tried the pork stuffed buns. They were an interesting presentation (really lovely). Good flavor. Absolutely loved the fish and chips. The Chicken Poutine was good but had a few too many competing flavors. Maybe skip the bang bang sauce. The cheesecake and chocolate cake were delightful. Overall, it is a nice place to relax and eat.

A little bit overpriced. However, can’t beat the service and location. Had a table by the window which gave us perfect views of the mountain behind the hotel. The staff was very prompt with their service which is expected due to the resort’s reputation. Food came out good and definitely had that four star presentation. Will be back again.
