What truly made the night special, though, was the people. The manager Jaimee was so attentive and supportive to the bartender Logan, which says a lot about the atmosphere of the place. The bartender herself was incredibly kind and sweet — you can feel when people genuinely care, and it shows here.
Wonderful people, wonderful service, wonderful food. I will absolutely be back.
Every dish was packed with flavor, perfectly spiced, and beautifully presented. You can tell everything is made with care and authenticity. We were seriously impressed with every bite.
But what really made our night was our server, Jamie. She was attentive without being overbearing, so kind, knowledgeable about the menu, and had the sweetest personality. She gave great recommendations and made us feel so welcomed and taken care of. It’s rare to find service that genuinely elevates the entire dining experience, and Jamie did exactly that.
We will absolutely be back, and we’ll definitely be asking for Jamie again! Highly recommend to anyone looking for amazing food and even better service.
This has easily become my favorite Indian restaurant. Keep in mind, my first review of Aahaa’s wasn’t terrible — I gave it 3 out of 5 stars. I just felt that the attention of the staff was focused on a table that had a film crew. I chalked it up to it being restaurant week, and I did think the food was great, just lukewarm.
Through email dialogue with the owner, Nick, he wanted to make it up to me and show me the true Aahaa’s experience. I decided to take him up on this offer today. My brother and I were already planning to go back to give it a fair chance because we loved the taste of the cuisine.
Under normal circumstances, I wouldn’t accept a free meal simply because I feel like the restaurant might overcompensate for the last experience. But after speaking with Nick, I felt he was a man of integrity who took ownership and was willing to right the wrong.
Upon arrival, we were seated, and Nick came out to speak with us. He was very welcoming. Our waitress — forgive me, I forgot her name — had great energy and was very helpful in guiding us with our selections. These are the items we had:
Appetizers:
Samosas — 4.5 out of 5
Cauliflower bites — 5 out of 5
Dragon chicken — 4.9 out of 5
Entrées:
Scallop & Shrimp Moilee — 5 out of 5
Juicy Lamb Shank Mandi — 4.87 out of 5
Basket of assorted naan bread — 5 out of 5
Dessert:
I don’t remember the names, but both were 5 out of 5.
The flavors of everything felt like I was invited over for a home-style meal. Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and made with love. The only thing we didn’t like was the rice that came with the lamb shank. It wasn’t bad, but the minty aftertaste threw us off. When we brought it up to Nick, he told us they were planning to take it off the menu because several customers had similar experiences.
Overall, Aahaa’s has now become my go-to for Indian cuisine. I will definitely be returning in the near future. Overall experience: 100 out of 5. Thanks to Nick and his staff for holding true to your word.
Now if your new to India this is a great starter Indian restaurant. Everything prepared is mild in taste. The food is good. Prepared ahead of diners coming into the restaurant, fast food type service.
We ordered very hot vindaloo but to the son disappointment was mild. Ordered very very spicy how vindaloo should be served . Taste of everything was good didn’t get anything you couldn’t eat.
I think it may have been the owner or manager ask how the food was, told her we ordered the vindaloo extremely hot and the dish had barely any heat.she stated the heat will come , sorry it did not .
She was very dismissive and said we can take it back and add spice. Kind of how it was ordered ,I said to her.
Found out it’s all made medium.
So good place for the taste .If you have never had Indian food this is a great place to start.
If you want authentic Indian food the select is wide with Indian food restaurants in kansas and kansas city mo . Lots of options.
Give them a try this is based solely on my pallet and everyone’s tastes are their own.
