Went to celebrate and do farewell dinner for my coworker moving out of state. And my daughter came with and it was her 1st experience with a hibachi. Everyone was so pleasant, nice and amazing. The chef was amazing so was food. Highly recommend. And fried ice cream was amazing

We come here once every month and a half to 2 months. This is the 6-7 time they brought out the Rice and the filet mignon & lobster tail out barely heated. The vegetables were super hot. That’s how you should be served your food. I was starving so yes I ate some but not enough to not take it off the bill or remake it. Manager came and told me himself. He then agreed to take half off but came back and said he took $10 off not sure how that’s half of $38 This is the last time we come here and deal with this kind of service. I’ll be getting half before I leave for sure. I will say their salad and dressing are always delicious. This was dining room not the hibachi grill area.

Their liquor license expire last time I visit A1, but today I went back and they finally serve alcohol again. They make the best zombie and Long Island ice tea. Would recommend to try it

A1 Steakhouse was disappointing from the start. As soon as we walked in, there was a strong, musty odor—probably from the carpets—and take-out containers were left out in the dining area, giving the place a dirty and disorganized feel.

We were clearly ordering from the lunch menu—we had it open at the table—and my partner asked for the hibachi lunch special. But we were charged the dinner price, even though it was during lunch hours. The server doubled down and blamed my partner for not being specific. But that’s not how it works—you confirm the order as a server. The whole thing escalated into an unnecessary argument simply because no one wanted to take accountability. The manager was called over and gave a non-apology that didn’t address the real issue.

The food didn’t help either. The soup wasn’t miso—it was clear broth with barely any flavor. The sushi rice was dry, hard, and completely lacked the seasoning you’d expect. Our daughter’s food arrived half an hour late (which was part of the appetizer)
I’ve eaten in plenty of hole-in-the-wall spots where service and food made up for the setting. This place had nothing going for it—bad food, bad service, and no ownership of mistakes. Not worth your time or money.

The hibachi chef may have been in training. Cooked the steak before chicken and it was well overdone. Maybe a better way to prepare the food as the vegetables were served last, long after the meat and seafood. Cocktails were good and reasonably priced. Waitress disappeared and we had to track someone down to refresh the drinks. It seemed louder than usual and difficult for our entire party to converse. They also failed to help us celebrate two birthdays. We requested ice cream and a candle but management didn’t come through. In the past, A1 was very good but not now. Would not recommend.

This place deserves a 10/5 stars. We used to live in the area, and go to this spot religiously. We now live 1 hour 30 minutes away, and we still come here as often as possible because no other place makes food like them. If you had a bad experience, you were just having a bad day. You need to come again, and just enjoy.

A1 Japanese Steakhouse straight-up delivers the goods. From the moment you walk in, it’s all vibes — the energy is lively, the staff is on point, and you know you’re about to have a night to remember.

The hibachi experience? Next level. The chefs don’t just cook — they perform. Fire flying, knives flashing, jokes cracking — it’s dinner and a show, and somehow the food still comes out absolutely flawless. Every bite is packed with flavor — the steak, chicken, shrimp… all cooked to perfection, seasoned just right, and served hot off the grill.

And let’s talk about the portions — they do not play around. You leave full, happy, and lowkey planning your next trip back before you even hit the parking lot. Plus, the sushi? Fresh, gorgeous, and worth a whole trip by itself.

A1 isn’t just a meal — it’s an experience. Great for date nights, birthdays, team outings — or honestly, just because you deserve a little extra magic in your life. Absolute 10/10.

Met my family for dinner for my niece’s 20th birthday celebration & everything was amazing. Denny was very personable and the fire tower is always a hit. He even made sure to cook my daughter’s food on a separate stove due to her seafood allergy. Awesome time will definitely return again!!

I never leave reviews but when me and my party of 5 (6 total) went out to eat, at first everything was great, the chef was great, tipped him an extra $5.
however, when it came time to pay, my friends were charged for 2 extra sodas (no free refills but only got 2), we asked for the correct amount to be put on, and they paid in card, we paid with cash. I handed a female server the checkbook and told her no change and she seemed to acknowledge that.
After all of us paid, we were standing out front saying our goodbyes when one of the servers runs out and tells me that i did not pay. I informed her i did, i told her the exact bills i used, and she went back inside. She then came back out with another server where they reinforced the “you didn’t pay” accusation. I, again, informed them that i did in fact pay, telling the new server what bills i used and that i handed it to a female server, and that i didnt know what she wanted me to do because i already paid and im not paying for it again. New server stood guard while the other one went in to double check, lo and behold she found the cash in the book that we gave back.
Not to pull the race card but I’m not sure if it was because i was the only mexican in the group, (they were only accusing me) or because we were all young adults. Barely received an apology they just laughed it off. Disappointing because we always visit with family and thought it would be a good time to visit with friends. Will not be returning.
If we were trying to dine and dash why would we be waiting around out front?
