Our Go To place when we are hungry for an Asian food especially the delicious Japanese food. I always in love with their yaki soba and yaki udon pan-fried noodles. Delicious food! Excellent!!

My family and I love this place. The staff is very nice and accommodating. Its fun for all ages. My kids ar 11 and 10 but we have been sat with kids as young as 3 or 4 that enjoy the experience just as much. The prices are high (I easily spend 170+ for 5 adult habachi meals) but its well worth it in my opinion. You get a good amount of food and the cooks are always so fun and engaging. We have been to similar places and this one always wins. They also have another location in Levittown, PA. As far as I know it is still open in Levittown.

I came here to dinner with a large group with almost 20 people. The restaurant did a great job of accommodating us The servers did a good job with the service and the chef was cool. The food was great and there was enough of it. This is the best hibachi restaurant in Allentown.

We had 10 people and 1 baby in our party. We called ahead and placed a reservation for 4:30, and didn’t get seated until 5, despite arriving right on time. The waiting area does have a nice couch though, and a pretty tree.
The menus are very used, with some written edits and some text printed wrong.
The food was very good, tasted exactly like every other hibachi.
The prices are somewhat expected of an average hibachi grill, but there are other options in the area with higher quality experiences and the same pricing.

Food was extremely tasteless. No salt, pepper, or garlic added to the food. Service was very slow and couldn’t keep up with the table.
Also huge FYI, which I find extremely cheap and not showing on their website, fountain soda is not unlimited refills. If I would have known that, I would have gone elsewhere. How cheap can you really be?
Overall – I won’t be going back to this place. Too many options in the area that taste better, have faster service, and don’t nickel and dime you on soda because the owner is cheap. GO ELSEWHERE!

I’ve visited A1 Japanese Steakhouse a few times over the years and typically stick to the hibachi side, but tonight, my wife and I decided to try the regular dining area. We started by sharing the Scorpion drink, which was fantastic—my wife especially loved the dramatic fire in the center. For dinner, she ordered the hibachi steak and shrimp while I opted for the aptly named Fantastic Roll and Shrimp Yaki Udon. Everything was incredibly flavorful, and the experience left me eager to return to try the hibachi grill again.

Worst service I have had a restaurant ever. Let me say the cook was entertaining and we tipped him well. Beyond that, stay away. Took over a half hour to just get our drink orders taken. Our soup, salad and non alcoholic drinks came out in a fair amount of time. You only saw a server after that to drop and run. He didn’t drop my one parties appetizer off until she had to stop him running by, the main was already being served at this point. When he did drop it and run, the sauce bowl on her plate was empty. Towards the end of the meal he was running by and we had to all but stand up to stop him. She told him about the missing sauce and he rudely said yeah yeah and started to rush off. I stopped him and addressed he was being rude and to cancel my alcohol drink order since by now I will be driving and dinner is all but over. He informed us the bar was behind and the tables drinks could still be awhile. We canceled all our drinks at this point. Also a child’s dinner was not brought out until after the main was started and somebody got up to find a server. Towards the end a bus boy came along and to our surprise started taking plates of food and sauces from people still eating. He was told to stop immediately and never returned. We wrapped up and had to hunt down management for our checks, and go find somebody again for too go containers. They added a tip for the servers at 18% to the bill. Believe me, we didn’t pay that.

Drinks were great, service was good. But our three hibachi meals were burnt and tasted horrible. And then we were charged an automatic 18% service fee for a party of three (2 adults and a child) even though right on their menu says automatic service fee for parties of four. Even said party of 3 on our receipt! Will not be returning

First off I found bug in my water. The sever didn’t write down the order and before he even left the table forgot our order had to ask again. Than our food comes out cold and taste completely burnt. My steak was crunchy. from over cooked and the piece of bone I bit into. I ask for med rare and other order with steak rare not at all cooked right. all way over cooked. I would never come here again or recommend it to someone else. And the smell is not pleasant in there at all.

The food was great and our cook was great. I’m giving 4 stars because they took along time to even come over and take our drink orders. We had to flag someone down to get refills and they seriously rushed us out after the cook was done. I maybe took 6 bites before the cleaning people were there trying to clean up and set up for the next group. I understand that it’s a Saturday and they were busy but no one should have to rush to eat when paying. It took longer for them to even come service us then they gave us to eat.
