A Tavola!
Those two simple words carry a lot of meaning in an Italian kitchen. Literally, it means “To the table”, but it’s much more than that.

I’ve enjoyed A Tavola three times since they started serving. Once for a private event, once as a to-go order for an organizational meeting , and finally, today, on the occasion of their official ribbon cutting and grand opening. All three times, I have been amazed by the quality of the food, the welcoming atmosphere, and the rest of the experience. I cannot recommend this place highly enough if you’re looking for an Italian restaurant in our fair city. It’s definitely made the rotation. I should be very clear what that means: I’m spoiled to live in a place where I can drive less than ten minutes to any one of several great restaurants on my side of town. To get me to expand my radius to the northside generally means the place must be truly exceptional.
This is one of those rare places.
There’s something about the food that reminds me of my grandmother’s cooking. Just a special something that I miss. She wasn’t Italian, but she worked as the personal cook to an American diplomat in postwar Austria before coming to the States, and so was quite skilled in a variety of cuisines. It’s worth the trip for that alone, but it’s far from the only thing that will bring me back again and again.
The staff is phenomenal. They navigated the massive grand opening rush with expertise. I was alone for this trip so chose to sit at the bar near the kitchen. I got to overhear all of the staff conversation. I work at a steel mill for a living, but would have frozen up with even a tenth of the stress that these folks made look like a walk in the park. I salute every one of them and the work they do.
Finally, if you’re looking for a place the kids won’t be picky about, I can attest that it won’t be an issue here. A friend attended the event as well, and came with his partner and her little sister. It was apparently the second time she had been here and the excitement was clear. Maybe its because they serve pizza, but I got the impression that it was THIS pizza in particular that was the draw. If you ever ate at Fuel and Iron, you’ll recognize this pizza.

I had the Carbonara plate and it was really delicious, it had a really nice in house made sauce with a light smoky flavor at the end due to the diced ham. Very tasty indeed. The Tavola cake was just a complex flavored mouth watering plate of love. Overall this is a place to come and have fantastic food.

Food was great! They are in the soft opening stage and still working things out. However; staff was great along with the food! We will definitely return.
Bonus: THERES A SPEAK EASY RIGHT NEXT DOOR – wonderful drinks!

Been a big fan of the food and service since Union Pizza Co at Fuel & Iron! So, happy to see them expand their menu and overall presence here in Pueblo!! The food and atmosphere is wonderful. And I’ll absolutely be back. I hope folks support this new local business and also extend some grace as they transition to their new beautiful space with new staff. Thanks, A Tavola! Happy eating!

The food here is outstanding! I have been there a few times and wanted to truly experience it before leaving a review. I highly recommend the pizza, the carbonara pasta, and their mixed drinks. It is quickly becoming weekly stop for me!

Everything I’ve had used high quality ingredients and exhibits thoughtfully crafted flavor profiles unlike anywhere else in town. You can tell the head chef cares deeply about quality and creativity.
Their brick oven pizzas are my favorite pizza in town. You get that smoky, wood fired depth in the crust, with a crisp chewy texture, the sauce & cheese is miles above other pizza places, and the fresh ingredients take it that extra mile. But beyond the pizza, you can find a blend of tradition and originality. The El Pueblo was a delightful and delicious appetizer that I could only describe as an Italian Burrito. It was also larger than I expected, I had to get a to go box (it reheated well). I’ve also had the Po’boy, which I’m not always big on fish, but this knocked it out of the park. Lightly crisped, with bold and satisfying toppings/sauce to tie it together. I’m excited to try more of the menu!
The atmosphere was great! I love the decor and layout. I love the cozy circular booths, and the ornate architecture to the bar area. Speaking of which, I really enjoyed every wine and cider I’ve tried so far! And if that’s your thing, venturing over to the hidden handle next door after your meal is a convenient and cool continuation to your night!

I had the Tuscan chicken in a cream sauce with papardella pasta, this was delicious. Were looking forward for the gluten-free Pizza, but they ran out of gluten-free. Service was really slow. We sat there a long time before our order came. The wait was worth it. I took home. The tiramisu absolutely delicious. Large portions, my only complaint is my take. Home box was cardboard, so it’s soaked up all the delicious sauce. My pasta was dried out when I got home. Maybe a liner of a piece of foil under it. Or I’ll just bring my own plastic next time LOL

They had the best meatballs I have had in a very long time in a restaurant. The red sauce was light and taste. Pizza was great. Good service.
The only neg was no soup and the bread was skimpy.
