Stop in late on Valentine’s Day and they had been busy all day so low on some menu items but plenty of choices still that we enjoyed. The empanadas were my favorite. Lots of flavor and crispy good. The pork chop was seasoned well with black beans and rice and was delish also. The Salchichon soup was ok, could have used a little punch (in my humble opinion) but still was good. The service was the best! They were all super friendly and helpful and our main server (I think the owner) was so dam personable and funny it just made our day. P.S. and she gave us a handful of A Taste of Peurto Rico swag to boot. We will be back for sure. It’s BYOB so next time with a nice bottle of wine to go with dinner.

I absolutely love going out and getting food not having to cook for myself is a little present I give to myself and when I came across this place in small town Honesdale I was so excited! the moment I walked in I could smell the food and see all the happiness thats there. The girls who own and cook everything are top notch I get the Pork Belly over black beans and half white rice and half Spanish rice and let me say every bite is the best bite! Last time I got rice pudding and it was made too perfection. Only problem i had is I wish I had gotten more! Haha but this time I got the strawberry tres Leche they make and i guess ive never had a good one before because this was the best dessert ive ever gotten at a diner/restaurant if you haven’t tried the food here please stop in and try something. You wont regret it. This is a large portion. I like to split it into multiple meals haha.

I finally got a chance to get to “Taste of Puerto Rico” it is A MUST! The space is spotless the location is fit for a quick bit or a sit down meal , time had me limited to take out this day. The , sounds and smells of the sunny and beautiful Caribbean Island of Puerto Rico are now in HONESDALE and I have to pinch myself for not getting there sooner. As a 28 year Retired military veteran I left home early to become a US Marine. My mom passed when I was 10 years old. As soon as I walked up to the door the delicious smells of my childhood struck me full of wonderful memories. The food did not make it out to Main Street. I ate my beef empanada as soon as I sat down and wow, just wow. Fresh crisp shell with beautifully seasoned meat, then I dug into the cheese filled one followed by the chicken., Wow. I rushed home and couldn’t help but serve myself the oiled to perfection, yellow rice and peas (Arroz con Gandules) and again my childhood came back. The dinners with mom and trips to Puerto Rico all fresh in my mind. This is a diamond of Main Street and worthy of a travel from far away to taste the food of the Island. I ordered the Pastelles, which I loved, the Pork (Perneal) was cooked and seasoned to perfection and the rice and pink beans were perfect. The price points are within working people’s means and the servings are so that one cannot finish it all and I’m 6 foot 2, 260 pounds .
I will bring my wife to eat in soon but I’m just amazed at the quality, freshness and authenticity “Taste of Puerto Rico”, Caroline and her amazing family have brought to HONESDALE and the NE PA region. Get there and you’ll see, smell and taste the beautiful Island for yourself. Enjoy!!

The atmoshere in the restaurant is so relaxing. The Puerto Rico themed murals on the wall. The Latin music playing and the food selections, all add to the ambience. The food is good from the roast pork, rice and beans, mufungo and flan. There are other items also. It’s a family run business, where they treat you like family. Go enjoy a Tastenof Puerto Rico on Honesdale.

What a great addition to Main Street! The empanadas were absolutely delicious!! I tried both the beef and chicken, and each was packed with flavor. The side of rice and beans was a huge portion and super delicious! The staff were all very friendly! Highly recommend this place. Great food and vibe!

When we punched in “Spanish restaurants” in google, the first restaurant that came up was a restaurant called A Taste Of Puerto Rico. We could not believe the flavors we were tasting. The food was so amazing, more amazing than food, was the family that owned this restaurant. Not only did we order lunch three days in a row. But our last day in PA. We personally took a ride to the restaurant to dine in and show them love. Because of the hospitality of this amazing family, because the food is so great. I kid you not, my wife and I are setting it up to take a 2 1/2 hour ride to PA. Once a month
just to taste “A Taste Of Puerto Rico”. Congratulations to this great family for representing Puerto Rico!
