We found this gem while driving through Brooksville and feeling the hunger. We got steamed shrimp with butter and Old Bay. Yum! Crawfish etouffee and jambalaya, both delish. And bite-sized hush puppies that were cooked to perfection. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend this place. We will definitely be back because for some reason, most of our road trips seem to go through Brooksville!

Delicious food. Counter service (like some BBQ joints) but the staff was nice. I had the gumbo and boudin (which was very good). Next time I’ll try the Creole (a stew) or the etoufee.

Update: went a second time. Owner is very friendly and plays live music, apparently. Food was great a second time as well.

This restaurant is amazing I ordered the fish, my husband ordered fish and shrimp Saturday. The shrimp was nice and plump, the fish was nice and was not soggy from the grease. We couldn’t even taste grease. It was amazing! It all had great flavor. So Tuesday I went back to try the chicken gizzards. Out of this world the BEST gizzards I have ever had! The owners are great people, very friendly and make sure you’re happy from start to finish. Cook to order which is wonderful when you get your food it is hot and ready. AMAZING It definitely a place to call your favorite! Thank you for serving the Brooksville area and the surrounding towns. I can not say enough, great great amazing God sure has a blessed us with a place to call for real food.

This was the best seafood (especially the hush puppies) I’ve had in Florida. Live music also added to the atmosphere.

Was passing through the area and chose this place because I’m from Louisiana. So, the only reason I gave the food a 2 is because their shrimp tasted like Louisiana blue shrimp taste. *not the breading on the fried shrimp. The breading on their foods is not like any Louisiana type breading. Ours is more cornmeal based, and has flavor of spices. The gumbo tastes NOTHING like any gumbo I’ve ever tasted, and not in a good way. It was obvious there was no roux, it wasn’t a rich brown, nor rich in flavor. There was no real flavor and way more rice than gumbo. And the last was the Red Beans and Rice…. ‍♀️ ‍♀️ ‍♀️ just NO. I don’t know how someone can screw that up so bad, but it was just plain awful. Boxed Zataran’s RB&R is a better option. It’s a hard PASS ON THIS PLACE. Oh, the one thing they did have going for them was a musician playing Music, way too loud for such a tiny place. We hurried to leave.

Y’all, lemme tell you sumn about this little hole in the wall.

I don’t want to EVER see or read ANYTHING negative about this place, and let me tell you why.

I am 3 months post-partum, freshly back to work. Every day with my husband is a battle between, “what do you want to eat?” and “do you even want to eat today?”

Driving by today, looking at the options, we drove past and I remembered how much I love their corn; my husband and I are frequent patrons.

We pulled into a parking lot and debated our options and I was hellbent on New Orleans so when the Google search told me they closed in one minute, I decided to try my luck anyways and called at 6:59pm. Yeah, I was THAT guy.

An absolutely wonderful gent answered the phone, and I asked what food they had left and that I was willing to take whatever they threw my way, I just wanted that extra spicy goodness

He told me that everything they have is made to order, and I came to the understanding that they were going to make me whatever I asked for. Despite this, I insisted on letting me take the scraps but he adamantly objected!

Y’all when I tell you, I dragged my work-beat arse in my robe and slippers into this place after they were supposed to close and was greeted with nothing but smiles, warmth, and love.

As someone who has worked both food service and retail, I can tell you that this business will always have my family and I’s support. Not only were the staff happy to be there, but I was too.

And don’t even get me going about the food I ordered! I need a whole other review for just the food!

I just wanted the owners, the team, to know that you’re appreciated and seen, that you are valued and for a working mama who’s at her wits end, a God’s send.

Happy Holidays

Wow! The food was delicious and well-seasoned. The fried shrimp po-boy was amazing! The large beignets were outstanding. We recommend getting the strawberry sauce, but they do offer others like caramel and chocolate. The service was great. You order at the counter, and they call you when it’s ready. The menu has plenty of great food items that are authentic to New Orleans vibe and culinary culture. The ambiance was colorful and fun. Overall, we greatly enjoyed our dining experience here.
