We are sad to announce we closed this location on June 14, 2025. Please visit our original San Jose location at 3443 Stevens Creek Blvd, San Jose, CA 95117. We will be expanding the location shortly. Thanks for the 14+ years of support. And please support Slice of Homage who will be taking over this location shortly. Back in 1998, I moved from NYC to San Jose to work at a big hi-tech company. Little did I know just how much I was going to miss my daily dose of za! Whenever anyone asked me what I missed most about New York, I would always say A Slice! The more I said it, the more I knew one day I would open my own New York pizza joint. I hope this also brings a slice of home to other transplanted New Yorkers!

Pizzeria turning out thin-crust pies in a space lined with New York City street signs & graffiti.

This pizza place is phenomenal and they serve classic NY slices. They have options both for vegetarians (pictures) and meat eaters (pepperoni and other kinds). The pizza slices are large, reasonably priced ($3.5 for cheese plus $0.5 for each topping) and most importantly, delicious, warm and fresh. You can also get whole boxes in different sizes. The place itself has a nice ambience, New York style feel to it, not too big but you can certainly bring a small group of friends to eat. Very hygienic, they have a touch-free wash basin, soap and paper towel dispenser along with drinking water for free. Highly recommend this place if you’re in the area and looking for a pizza place – skip the chain stores and try this, you won’t be disappointed.

Update – went here years later and still fantastic pizza, service, and ambience. Definitely lives up to its name!

This spot is a hidden pizza gem. Being born and raised in NY, I’ve searched for an authentic NY style pizza spot in the area, and have finally found it! The thin, crispy crust is just how I remember as a kid. There’s a lot of pizza spots out here that claim to be NY style, but have too thick of a crust, too much sauce, or just don’t have the flavor right. A Slice of New York is by far the best NY style pizza spot around this area. So grateful to have found a little piece of home here!

Really loved the Pizza. Ordered the Cheese, Margarita and the Buffalo Chicken. Loved all of them. So close to the actual NYC slice.

And you gotta love the theme. They have done a great job giving it a NYC pizzeria feel. ❤️

Very awesome thin crust pizza. Amazing menu, very simple to a little crazy, just kidding. Made to order your way with nice suggestions from staff. Can be busy but worth the wait. I like the atmosphere-subway, graffiti and open space. pizza is cheesy, salty, nice crust that is crunchy bottom with a slight pull on the gluten. You have to try it out especially if you are a non-NYer. Yummy yummy

Fantastic cooperative model of a pizza place in Silicon Valley! Closest thing to nyc pizza here. Very busy. Great, respectful service.

Fun, quirky NYC Themed decor. Very cute.

Got the following pizza slices:

Pesto, Mushroom, Cheese and buffalo chicken. All were excellent but the mushroom was my favourite.

Much admiration for their respect for workers. Keep it up!

I don’t recommend this place at all. Take this from an ex New Yorker. I gave them at least three strikes and they have disappointed me each time. All I craved for was a plain and simple pie. Their cheese pizza is fine but not close enough to the real thing. While NYC still serves their cheese slice for a dollar this place can set you back by $10 while sampling just 2 slices.

So so good! Got Buffalo chicken and pepperoni and it was amazing. Buffalo was perfect with just a hint of heat and both were thin crust.
The server even gave us an extra slice because one slice was coincidently a bit too thin.
Slices are a bit pricey than normal but the size is larger than normal slices as well. And they have extras like parm cheese, garlic powder etc in the back.
Highly recommend!!

This is one of my favorite pizza places in the area. Really like their garlic knots. Like their pizza a lot. I’ve ordered here several times.

I just got the Sicilian for the first time, and did not like that at all, though. It’s 90% bread and maybe 1% sauce. Definitely not extra sauce (there was a lot of cheese). Very dense and frankly a little hard to eat. It’s huge. Maybe it needed more toppings since I only added jalapenos.

I love their regular pizzas, but I’d advise steering clear of the Sicilian, at least the plain one.

A hidden gem in the area.

We live very close to this place for years, but never been to this plaza. Tried it today to support local business and it turns out to be amazing pizza!! We tried personal size(10”) The City(combo) and Rockefeller (all meat). Both were great! It’s overloaded with topping, crust by the edge and soft dough in the middle.

Also, they charged 18% during covid to support employee – appreciated! The price is higher than other chain pizza stores, the quality is totally different level! You cannot never go back to those chain stores when you tried this.

Wish they can open during lunch time in future.

The pizza here is so good! Highly recommend the Margarita and the buffalo chicken. The Witte beer on tap is perfect to wash it all down. Get the garlic knots if you want to splurge a little.
