Gave the place a second try and this is what I get. Mashed potatoes for the Mac and cheese, old sweet potatoes swimming in butter and what’s supposed to be fried turkey chops. I assumed they would be battered but I guess the meat is just deep fried. The taste wasn’t bad on the chops but definitely overcooked. Called and left a message to speak with a manager.

We visited this location on 03/05/2026.
We ordered the special of fried chicken with 2 sides. They didn’t have the hush puppies, so I ordered fried okra and green beans. My wife ordered a baked potato and corn. The waitress came back and asked if we wanted gravy on our chicken.
We said no, they said did you want to order something else. We said yes, and were confused. I said to my wife gravy on fried chicken didn’t sound good. The waitress then said it’s okay we have some coming right up. So it was settled we would get what we ordered. So we waited a little while 15 minutes or so. Then the waitress brought our food out without the baked potato. She said I went ahead and brought out this so it didn’t get cold, I will bring out the potato when it is done.
The chicken wasn’t fried it was baked, and looked like it had been done twice. Hard in places and dry. The green beans looked like they had been reheated many times,
They didn’t even smell like green beans they han a strange old smell and look.
So much so I didn’t taste them.
The fries okra was okay the frozen type.
The baked potato never came.
The place had several young guys some appeared to be employees but were just interested in their phones. One man from the kitchen came around the corner and looked at my wife and myself a couple of times. This was just after lunch about 1:00.
It appeared as though they either didn’t care or didn’t know how to run a restaurant, cafe, ect. The menu was of the typical mom and pop type. The special board was as if it was from a whole different type of menu.
It was strange and definitely not remotely good.
We left must of the food, paid and left not to return.
We sure wish it had been an acceptable experience.

Ordered from there twice and so here’s my take. First time I ordered house fried rice. I had to see what black peoples’ fried rice tasted like. It was decent but not a large amount for the $. The lady who took my order seemed oblivious to working the register. Not the best customer service. I came back later that same day because I wanted beef tips earlier but they weren’t done so the second time I ordered beef tips with baked Mac and cheese and green beans but decided to add rib tips also just in case the beef wasn’t good and I’m so glad I did. The regular rib tips were very good and tender. The beef tips were dry and unpleasant. The baked Mac and cheese didn’t live up to mine but I’ve had worse and the green beans were nice. I will say that my second server Addison was very friendly and helpful . She definitely tried to go above and beyond. P.s. I told the young man who works in back (2 times) that I DID NOT want sauce on my tips. I get home and what do you know? Sauce slathered on both orders of tips. Attention to detail lacking but I’d try again just because they’re black owned.

Food was terrible. Green beans looked and smelled overcooked & old. Recooked over & over. Fried chicken not fried but baked. Recooked also. Ordered a baked potato never got it Left without getting a take out box for the dog Lousy restaurant. Would never recommend. Waitress kept apologizing for everything. Really not worth the money or time. Sad

I just got back home from Springfield and I was blown away by the breakfast here.
I had the best eggs benedict, sausage links, potatoes, omelet, biscuits and gravy ,and toast. I ordered a lot of things for my big sister, brother and myself, not knowing exactly what anyone wanted. When I say we drooled and ate the best breakfast before I left town, omg! I’m coming back and bringing my husband.
The customer service was also amazing. I found out we went to the same high school and graduated a year apart. She was lovely and great to talk with.
Thanks everyone for the delicious breakfast. I took the loyalty card home.

Me and my husband went there for dinner tonight. The food was good and the service was great. I would recommend it to others for sure. I’ll be going back!!!

Please ignore the first reviews; I do want to state a business opening up on the first day and grand opening isn’t always going to be perfection. With that being said I just visited today and was treated with excellent service and the food was delicious. They have a large variety. I’m from the south, so this definitely tasted similar to home! One thing I can say to the owners is please get your website and phones up and working! Posting menus and pictures of food also helps. Social media and online stuff is what drives people to restaurants more and more. Keep up the good work!
