Ordered smothered Porkchops with collards and cabbage. First the sides, the cabbage were mushy and collards were salty to point I couldn’t eat them. I forgot that most food place just pour gravy over a pchop when u order smothered, it’s not the same to me if it’s not cooked down in the gravy. A spoon was in utensils pk so I tried to spoon gravy on pchop as most was at bottom of container, gravy was ok not homemade probably but it was ok.

First of all when me and my wife walked in we initially thought the food would be good because there were so many people waiting for there orders. We were quickly put off by the women taking our order. Smh. She was inattentive. I asked why there were no prices on the menu. She replied that the prices change so often. So then I asked her what kind of fish was on the fish sandwich. She proceeded to ring me up for a fish dinner and then she said it came with two sides. So I repeated myself and she caught an attitude. My wife asked for a chicken wing kids meal. So proceeded to ring her up a pig feet dinner. I was so frustrated I canceled and walked out. I don’t know what she has going on. Very unpleasant. And unprofessional experience. 10 out of 10 would NOT recommend. Never going back.

Looks like a nice place once you enter, but the atmosphere of feeling invited into your establishment was not the vibe I was expecting. Asked a question, and the girl in the back with the nasty pink shirt was nasty. Food tastes good, but hospitality is greatly needed.

I was on the fence about making my review because in the past I love this establishment (when they were on Military Hwy). Now… I’ll probably won’t go back for a while (until I see better recent reviews) I got the fried and smothered pork chop dinners and bead pudding. One of my fried pork chops smell soooo bad, kinda fishy, I threw it in the trash. Bread pudding went in trash too, mushy and no flavor. Atmosphere kinda depressing. Employees seems stressed and tired and one of them was in and out the restaurant multiple times taking a smoke break and going to the smoke shop on the corner. This food cost too much to throw in the trash.

Listen you never find a place it doesn’t matter where their location is their food is the same!!! This is that place!!!! The food is amazing its like going into granny house and she say sitdown baby food is almost done!!! This here is a community staple and food still touches your soul!!! They give you soooo much good food it is definitely worth every single dime!!!! Funny thing is I don’t eat pork at ALLLL!!! But soon as I walked in I definitely ordered the smothered pork chop dinner!!! I tried so many other soul food places!!! Yall Omgeeee I’m still eating my plate a day later lol!!!!!! Going back tomorrow for more!!!!

Got a smotherd pork chop it was super dry and I couldn’t even eat it the rice was also dry just didn’t enjoy it at all and I couldn’t take it back because they make it clear they don’t do refunds ……NEVER GOING BACK!!!!!!!!

The quantity of the food was plentiful however I will not be returning. Not a fan of dead flies not being cleaned out of the windowsills especially in a restaurant. Sign posted no refunds so I didn’t complain but will definitely not be returning…
