This is a really cute place for wine on tap! Reservations are helpful as the spot is tight. I would definitely return for a wine event. My table all bought the food and we loved the apps. My entree was salty and stated clams but they were definitely mussels- big portion though. The ribs were sweet but a small portion. Either way my wine flight was worth it and I would go back for that!!

An absolutely amazing restaurant, on par if not better than other local places like the Red Wood Cafe in Modesto or the Market Tavern in Stockton! A Matter of Taste brings unique made from scratch dishes that are expertly crafted, served in a wonderful atmosphere! We had the fish tacos and chicken piccata, with pretzels as an hors d’oeuvre, and had their chocolate cake and blueberry cheesecake for dessert. Don’t sleep on their house made desserts which are amazing! Hands down. Best cheesecake I’ve ever had, and I’ve tried a lot of cheesecakes! Not only is the food amazing, but it can’t be beat at this very reasonable price point! The service was also impeccable, big thanks to our server Dean! My wife and I will be coming back for a fancy date night soon!

If you live near Ripon, CA or just passing through the area, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a well made affordable meal prepared by kind souls!
After careful review of many area restaurants I came across A MATTER OF TASTE. The owners helped me put together a catered meal for a dear family struggling with the loss of a wife and mother just before Christmas. I live out of state and have not had the privilege to meet them or patronize their restaurant. I was hoping to find delicious food with quality ingredients and someone easy to work with since this arrangement was all sight unseen. And that’s exactly my experience – quick response and good communication. The catered meal was prepared and delivered sooner than planned! Did I mention it looked amazing, check out the pics! These are wonderful kind-hearted people to work with. Thank you for helping me give some comfort to a family at a most difficult time – the family enjoyed the food. Blessings for a prosperous New Year – Sophia!

Cozy and intimate bistro with great food, wine, and service in Ripon, CA. We had the chef’s specials and recommended wine pairing. My husband enjoyed his Herb Crusted Filet Mignon. Pasta was flavorful and comforting; and the beef was tender. Bread was soft with tasty and salty butter. Malbec was good.
Spaces are limited so reservations are recommended. Tonight was not a busy night but street parking was pretty full. Be prepared to park and walk a little bit to the restaurant. We didn’t park too far but it was chili and windy to walk back to the car.

Alessandra was fantastic on her customer Service. She was also very knowledgeable in her menu ingredients and drinks. The owner Mary Lou and Judith were very hospitable and accommodated my food allergies as best as he could. The inside of the facility is clean upbeat and fun. I would be coming back again soon. Thankful and happy to support small business owners.

Good but there’s work to do. Majority of menu items were out of stock including champagne selections so had to go down list of options to make order selections. Four stars because service was attentive and Turkish eggs did not disappoint. Will be back!
