Gino and Li Ping and their son work here to offer the best Italian food I’ve had in the area. The lasagna was made to order, their carbonara was fresh, and the Caprese salad was delicious.
They make their own pasta which you can add to most pasta dishes, they also offer steaks some nights in a wood fire grill.
They offer veal dishes, risotto, and lots of different authentic Italian options. They offer beer and wine and non-alcoholic beverages. No liquor at this time.
Really inviting, small town restaurant vibes. The service was top notch. Gino was funny and very knowledgeable about Italian cuisine.
Definitely worth the visit if you’re in the Round Rock/ Ptlugerville/ Hutto area and want some really amazing food.

My wife, the Weiss’s and myself had a reservation for 5 pm dinner tonight and were greeteed by the owners. They were gracious and welcoming explaining their food selections and their unique business location inside The Hutto Cafe on Thursday through Saturday evenings. We had shared a couple of Antipasto (appetizers) items, each of us had a Insalata (salads), Secondi (entree) and then Dolce (desserts). The Calamari Friti and Bruschetta di Casa were very good and are highly recommended. Three of us ate the Classic Caesar and received more dressing after our request. Two of us had the Lasagna di Carne, Fettuccine Bolognese and I had the Pollo Parmesan. We loved our dishes, but only ate half of our meals because we were getting full, the asked for to go holders. We finished the evening with two Tira Misu’s and two Limoncello Cake pieces. Everything was Very Good and we will return again. Gino Sr., his wife and his son Gino Jr. were very helpful.

We just left A Little Taste of Italy in Hutto, and all I have to say is wow. The food is spectacular, and the family who owns it is so cordial. Definitely give them a try.
We ordered food to go last week via UberEats: mozzarella triangles, chicken fettuccini alfredo, the spicy sausage pasta and tiramisu. The food was great when we tried it at home, even though it was no longer hot after the drive. We figured if the food was that good to go, it had to be amazing fresh, and our hunch was correct.
A Little Taste of Italy is a pop up restaurant open Thursday-Saturday from 4:30-9 pm. We were the only patrons when we entered the restaurant a little after 5 (at 109 E Front St in Hutto, where the Hippo Cafe is). Gino greeted us like we were family
and introduced us to his own family, his wife and son, who all run the restaurant together. Gino has been in the restaurant business for 59 years, and his hospitality shows. He regaled us with tales from his past and he a delight to converse with.
We ordered the fried mozzarella and calamari to start. Both came with pomodoro sauce for dipping and were delicious. The calamari was not chewy and consisted entirely of rings.
For entrees, we ordered the spicy bucatini with shrimp and the chicken Parmesan but subbed Alfredo instead of red sauce. Gino was super accommodating to the substitution for no extra charge. I am a bit of an Alfredo connoisseur, and the sauce here is spectacular. He uses 40% cream in his sauce. I am often disappointed ordering Alfredo somewhere new, but not here! Gino offered parmesan, cracked pepper and red pepper flakes to top off our dishes, and we took him up in it. The portions are hearty. After eating my chicken, I took home most of my pasta and can get 1-2 MORE meals out of it.
We decided to grab a 14 inch double pepperoni pizza to go, as we were eager to try the whole menu and figured pizza would reheat well as a midnight snack. As stuffed as we were, we did have to snag a bite of the pizza while it was piping hot. Another grand slam.
I have not had a single item here that I wouldn’t order again.
A Little Taste of Italy is authentic and made from the heart. Support local. Check them out because you will want to return. Mangia!

I love Italian food and there aren’t that many good places in the area.I am really glad my husband and I decided to try it. We started with the bruschetta and it was amazing. The owner told me they make their own balsamic vinegar. I got their special of the day which was a tuna steak, mushroom risotto, cooked spinach and a salad. I got their special Gorgonzola dressing and the salad was delicious. The tuna steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and my sides were great also. I was sad that I was so full I couldn’t finish and had to take half my plate home. My Husband got their made to order lasagna and handmade meatballs. Those were great also because of course I had to take a bite. The service was great and the owners stopped by each table to talk to all

I love this place! It is family owned and operated. Gino and his family provide excellent service. I grew up with spaghetti Sundays and of course it was made from scratch by my little Sicilian grandmother so I am extremely critical of any Italian food not prepared in my own kitchen. Having said that, their food is Amazing!!! I highly recommend you give “A Little Taste of Italy” a try.
