Loved the dim lighting, tea candles, and quiet vibes. Delicious food and friendly staff. I have never had a tuna bolognese before so was very excited to have tried that! Great mocktail selections as well

Friendly service, excellent cocktails, and nice ambiance. Enjoyed the squid salad, and the rock fish with clams, the lamb was tender but a tad over-salted. The panna cotta was divine. All in all, satisfying though slightly larger portions would have been welcomed.

Very cool spot to hang out outside or have a romantic dinner, especially with candlelight and dim lighting. The food was delicious overLland the drinks (not pictured, but we had non-alcoholic cocktails). It was definitely more leisurely service, so a great date night spot if you want to linger. Solid spot to check out!

Goodafternoon ,
Now – me and my husband had went to this restaurant for dinner . It was our first time – the customer service excellent honestly 5/5 . The design of the place yeah 5/5 it was nice . But now moving on to food :
We both went for the dinner well full
Course (65$) each.
For the starters – the biscuits (tasty really good – BUT the butter spread . The pepper corn was too over powering . For me anyways . My husband didn’t mind it .)
Second – chicken liver toast – the grapefruit topping drizzle , sauce on top extremely over
Powering 7/10 for him. But my husband decided to keep eating and eventually the taste kinda went down but- not tasty at all. You couldn’t taste anything . BUT the grapefruit . I got “chick pea panisse “ okay not bad 6/10 but the peanuts that are in it – don’t really need it to be honest . Maybe there for texture . Not really tasty especially if you let it get cold .
Main- my husband got “roasted fluke” , we had no idea it was fish – maybe we just didn’t pay attention to the name . But besides that it was actually decent the fish – but the I ingredients around it was just not actually fitting for the meal – but he didn’t mind if .7/10 . For him. Now I had the “braised pork” . NOW the meat was actually good the meat is a 10/10 – but what was around if made the flavors go down. EXCEPT THE APPLE . For some odd reason the apple tasted really good with it – everything else no. Needed more time cooking or something else . So in total for the meal 7/10.
Dessert – my husband got “pistachios date cake” he loved it – warm tasty. 10/10.
I got the olive oil chocolate brownie – ice cream. It was good – could taste the olive oil. But it was good ate the whole thing 10/10.
Drinks and FOOD we went with the waiter choice . We did not touch our drinks – they were not good to us. Total = over 200$ .
Might go back give it another try, maybe the food we went with just wasn’t for us. Maybe it was just different . But still willing to go back and try something else and maybe would change my whole experience.

One of the more impressive restaurants that I have been to. The staff is incredibly friendly and cordial, it seems like everyone genuinely loves their job and that is extremely refreshing in today’s atmosphere. The food is always wonderful and the waffles and drinks at the holiday market were beyond delicious.

Attended the event-A.BBQ SERIES with Kevin Tien of Moon Rabbit-on a pleasant, cool Wednesday night.  We were greeted immediately by a cheerful, attentive hostess who escorted us to our seating on the outdoor terrace.  Rain didn’t stop the show thanks to the high-tech, retractable canopy that was instantaneously activated by the drizzle. Additionally, there were mounted heaters which added a nice touch of warmth.  There were smooth sounds of energetic, danceable melodies of the 70s and 80s being spun by the resident DJ (shout out to DJ Laura Lopez)-defintely a cool vibe.

Our server was welcoming, while going over the menu.  There were unique, tasty signature cocktails to choose from the specialized drink menu-we opted for a bottle of bubbles.  For starters, we ordered the tomato provencal with crispy shallots, Thai basil, and jalapeño and the cornbread topped with bluefish, trout roe, and a dollop of sour cream.  With the chef and the patio grill adjacent from our table, the grilled tamarind prawns with spicy green curry and fry bread was a necessity, along with the marinated skirt steak with papaya salad.

It was a bit busy on the terrace and in the main dining room and slight mixup-initially, we received the peach salad in lieu of the cornbread.  The peach salad was slightly busy in appearance yet savory with a burst of flavors.  Shortly after, the cornbread was delivered to our table followed with the grilled prawns.  Unfortunately, we didn’t receive the skirt steak; however, one of the chefs and one of the hostesses checked in with us with the interest of making amends.  The star of the night was our dessert-profiteroles with rich coffee ice cream- this surely made up for the confusion- yummy.  There is the final event later this month-will definitely check it out-bye for now 🙂

Food 5/5 A unique culinary experience; a harmonious use of distinctive flavors, spices, herbs, and fresh ingredients, offering a wide range of textures

Atmosphere 5/5 cool vibes set by the live dj; made to order courses from the patio grill

Service 3/5 this is fourth or fifth event of its series; a bit busy

Fairly quiet brunch during our visit. We had the added benefit of good service too. We had the wagyu steak frites, omelet, biscuits and gravy, and house burger. Probably the best biscuit I’ve had in recent memory. No issues with any food despite the steak was slightly over medium. Will try to go during happy hour.

Had an amazing happy hour experience! Delicious mix of classic small bits with some creative dishes as well. The cocktails were very well balanced and also tasty. Very warm and inviting stuff with a vibe that felt very comfortable. The fire pit outside in the patio was exactly what I needed to round the whole experience out. Cannot wait to return not just for happy hour, but to try the other menus as well. Well done A. kitchen!

A friend and I enjoyed a pricey lunch here during Restaurant Week. The chickpea panisse starter was a tasty eye-opener, an item that we had never tried before that tasted nothing like chickpea and came with an inspired sauce and accompanying items that made for an outstanding dish. My deconstructed grilled chicken salad featured a large moist delicious half chicken breast. My friend’s hamburger was cooked as requested and featured huge steak fries that stayed internally warm inside through the end of the meal. The Panna cotta dessert was reported okay and the chocolate sorbet might have been enjoyed by a true chocolaholic.

A Cozy Culinary Escape in DC – A Must-Try
a kitchen + bar

Tucked away in the heart of DC, a kitchen + bar is the kind of spot that instantly makes you feel at ease. The warm, inviting space—dim lighting, cozy booths, and just the right number of plants—creates the perfect backdrop for an evening that feels both intimate and effortlessly cool.

Now, let’s talk food.

We kicked things off with a spread of starters that instantly set the tone for the meal. First up, the buttermilk biscuits—flaky, golden perfection. But the real star? The hotel butter they’re served with. Silky, rich, and impossibly smooth, it was so good I found myself rationing every bite just to make it last longer. Then came the chickpea panisse, which brought a crisp exterior and creamy center, making for an unexpectedly addictive bite. The crispy oyster mushrooms were just as impressive—meaty, crunchy, and packed with bold umami flavor that made them a standout.

Then there was the ricotta toast—something I’d normally skip in favor of something more adventurous. But this? This changed my mind. Creamy, whipped ricotta layered on thick, perfectly toasted bread, topped with just the right balance of sweet and savory elements. It was delicate yet flavorful, and honestly, one of the biggest surprises of the night.

For entrées, we went with the potato gnocchi and the lamb shoulder—two completely different dishes that both delivered in their own way. The gnocchi was like eating clouds, impossibly soft and pillowy, melting in your mouth with every bite. Meanwhile, the lamb? Pure silk. Slow-cooked to that perfect, fall-apart texture, with rich, deep flavor that made every forkful feel indulgent.

To wrap it all up, the hibiscus and black tea panna cotta was the kind of dessert that sneaks up on you. Light, floral, and just the right amount of sweet—refreshing enough to make you feel like you needed one more bite, even after a full meal.

This place isn’t just about good food—it’s about the whole experience. From the warm, calming atmosphere to the carefully crafted dishes, every part of the meal felt intentional. Whether you’re looking for a casual date night spot or just want to treat yourself to a great meal, this one’s definitely worth a visit.
