Great spot for Taiwanese food. Place is unassuming but the food is great and the service is fast. Bring cash to avoid credit card fees. Menu does not have photos so take a moment to read through. Bring friends so you can order different things to try the menu. The menu is huge

My go-to place for comfort food.
PROS:
– Many small dishes I can order several different every time.
– The Chinese style fried pork chop rice (排骨馅饼) and Pan fried beef pan (牛肉馅饼) are all time best and quality are consist for years.
– For lunch, most of time no waiting if get there before 12:30

CONS:
– Bean curd with thousand year egg (皮蛋豆腐) was disappointing. Supposed to use soft tofu but they might use the firm tofu (not 100% sure) the taste was tough and dry. Also the egg was not sliced, chef expected we helped ourself with table knife ;(
– 3% fee for credit card or you have to pay by cash, or Zelle/Venmo them.

Foods are delicious BUT horrible service.

1 star is for service.
Lack of waitress/waiter. Took forever to get our orders.
One waiter was running with hot foods all the time, nervous to eat my foods,

took over 40 mins to get my donut and soy milk, they forgot our tea/water.

Even one can of coke took over 40mins to get it. Quite disappointed.

Other than the fish and the dessert, everything else wasn’t very tasty. The dry noodle is supposed to be their signature, but very tasteless. The pop chicken was a bit too salty but quite crispy. The soup dumpling didn’t have soup in it and the wrap was broken for every single one. There are not many Chinese restaurants around here, was hoping to have some tasty Chinese food, but wasn’t very satisfied unfortunately.

When I say A&J Bistro is the best Taiwanese cuisine available in the tri-state area, I mean it. The food is excellent, along with the impeccable service and atmosphere. The Lou Rou Fan (braised pork over rice) is top- notch quality. I would highly recommend ordering it. The prices are appropriate for the portion sizes, and service provided. The staff speak fluent mandarin, and English. I would highly recommend A&J Bistro, for high quality food, service and atmosphere.

Like going to Taiwan, which I have done many times. Authentic well-prepared and inexpensive. Crispy duck is a new dish that was excellent. Everything is made to order and fresh. The steamed dumplings take 15 minutes but are worth it.

Excellent food! Authentic and great food. We’re Asian and we can tell this restaurant is legit.
Good staff, very busy on Friday night (because food is good). Noisy when busy as expected in a good restaurant.
Pop corn chicken, pig trot, wanton, xiao long bao, beef noodles are all great – none of what we ordered disappointed, all good.

My boyfriend first discovered A & J Bistro during a business trip to New Jersey and fell in love with their food. This time, while we were vacationing in New York City, he actually drove all the way from NYC just so we could eat here — and it was absolutely worth the trip! The food is authentic Taiwanese, full of flavor and nostalgia. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the prices are very reasonable. We’ll definitely come back again whenever we visit the area!

Ever since I visited Taiwan, I have been looking for a place that serves authentic Taiwanese food – and this is it!

The Beef Noodle Soup was incredible, and tasted like the real thing you would get in Taipei. Their dumplings were fresh, hand made and delicious!

Everything we ordered was quite tasty and well priced. Be sure to bring cash, or an ATM card!
