Lots of errands in this suburb and wanted to try a new restaurant nearby. Since it was lent, I could not compare their al-pastor nor their carne asada as a benchmark to other similar cuisines.

Instead, ordered their tuna tartare with guacamole and balsamic drizzle which was very good. They are correct that their ahi tuna was sushi grade. However, the tortilla chips was kind of bland and it was cold (much like the complimentary basket). Several other places I have been to serve them made to order, which I believe does not take much time and even so, worth the wait.

Also ordered a shrimp taco with avacado crema on a corn tortilla. The shrimps were cooked very nice and all the toppings were flavorful.

Overall, a fairly strong 4.2⭐️s. Will need to try their other menu items when not during lent.

Wanted to give this place a try
BUT I’am beyond disappointed with my experience & the taste of what they think is ..”Authentic Mexican Food”.
My food did not taste like authentic mexican food, I have been eating & cooking mexican cuisine my whole life..the taste, sazón & love is not here.
It’s overpriced for the amount of food I paid for &
I paid $35.43 for 1 small Mole Enchilada dinner , 1 Steak taco & 1 jarrito guava drink.
My rice was very dry with not much flavor, the beans were plain tasting not much seasoning. The mole sauce for the enchiladas tasted Watered down /Slightly salty for some reason ? The mole sauce tasted like low effort /quality Puebla style mole. 🙁
The chicken inside the enchiladas was dry.
The steak taco meat was heavily peppered bits of stringy meat. The Tortillas were fine, regular.
I really wanted to like this place but my experience was not good unfortunately. I also didn’t get any salsa or silverware nor napkins for my takeout order. Overall It felt like Gentrified Mexican food, I’am willing to give it another chance but I highly recommend Melly’s Mexican cuisine or La Chaparrita Grocery& Restaurant or Rubi’s on 18th for REAL Authentic Mexican cuisine.

True Service Report
The food here is amazing — no question. I’ve been here twice now, and every dish we’ve had has been excellent. Clearly, whoever is cooking in the back knows exactly what they’re doing, and honestly, the chef deserves way more recognition than what’s happening out front.

That said, the vibe is consistently off, and unfortunately it’s because of the staff.

Both visits felt uncomfortable, like the people working there were irritated just to be there. This last time made it impossible to ignore. Our server repeatedly made us feel rushed and unwelcome. The moment that really crossed a line was when he brought our food out, stopped at the table, popped a Zyn in his mouth right in front of us, pulled the pouches out with his fingers under his lip, set our plates down, and walked away like nothing happened. It was unprofessional and honestly uncomfortable to witness while being served food.

We ordered around five dishes between my girlfriend and me, so it’s not like we were taking up space or being difficult guests. As someone who works in hospitality, I expect basic professionalism and awareness — and this just wasn’t it.

It’s a shame, because the kitchen is clearly carrying this place. The chef and the owner deserve a front-of-house staff that matches the quality of the food. With better training, attitude, and presentation, this spot could be something really special. Right now, the service is holding it back.

First time trying and we are VERY impressed. Food came out very quickly and was super fresh. The service was amazing, especially our server Sandy! She made really good suggestions, I would recommend Birria egg rolls when you go here they are amazing! We will be coming back!

I am SUPER picky, and I will say a bite of mexicos quesabirria is top-notch!(I have tried their birria burrito & tacos now). Not only is it a go to date night spot, but I also planned a surprise birthday dinner here! They were super kind about the reservation and even let me bring a candle in!
The staff here is absolutely fantastic! They are so on top of everything and make sure you’re well taken care of.
I will be back 100%. I would highly recommend trying this place out to anyone!

Walked in and was greeted immediately. Great service and friendly bartender took our order to go and brought us chips and salsa while we waited. Food was very overpriced and was $7 per taco and they were on the smaller side. Didn’t think the taste was worth the price.

Been here before and the atmosphere was always the same but food normally good. This time complete opposite. I placed an order for southwest eggrolls. First problem I was given 3 instead of 5. Told the host the situation and instantly told I only get 3. I stated the website states 5.Then host states well it is happy hour and states she will be back. Another coworker questions me and I show her the website. The coworker then says wait one moment. As I’m waiting the entire staff is staring at me as if I said or did something wrong. I’m not sure if the host walked to the manager or the supervisor. Correction was supposedly made within 2 minutes. The eggrolls had no chicken only beans, corn and raw vegetables. Very bland

This was my wife’s and I first time here with friends. The food was excellent. But what was outstanding, the customer service. Let me explain why. My wife is a kidney transplant and can’t share things like chips and dips that are commonly served at establishments like this because of cross contamination.

So, I spoke with Renee, co-owner and explained the situation. She said give me a minute and within a couple minutes the Owner Rick came to our table and said that he is going to change the oil in one of the fryers to make the chips for my wife.

Look, that type of customer service goes far and beyond. The waitresses were fantastic as well the bartender. AMAZING!

Give A Bite Of Mexico a try. If you like to have a drink with the meal the bartender makes a mean Mai Tai.

First time here and this restaurant did not disappoint! The drinks are strong and inventive. We even had the pleasure of a tequila tasting and special drink menu featuring those tequilas. The enchiladas mole were phenomenal! Rich, chocolatey sauce with no bitterness like I have experienced with some other moles. Don’t be shocked by the taco prices either because these tacos are huge and stuffed with meat. Our server, Guadalupe, was working her first shift and she was a gem! Very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. This is our new spot and we can’t wait to return.

Small critique: maybe combine white meat chicken with some dark for a juicier enchilada filling or throw a little sauce on the inside of the enchiladas. The all white meat filling just came across a tad dry. Don’t ever change that mole though!

A Hidden Gem

A Bite of Mexico has AUTHENTIC Mexican food. (Not like the Cisco menu that 99.99% of the Mexican restaurants serve.) From the freshly made chips and salsa that greet you upon your seat at the table to the housemade, flavorful margaritas; the intro to this place rocks! The next round consisted of a 20 ingredient mole and a super stuffed chicken burrito which were the best I’ve ever had…at any Mexican restaurant!! Daisy, our server, deserves a review in and of herself. She is friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and an asset to the restaurant! Hands down, one of the best restaurants in the South suburbs….and way beyond. Make the trip out here- you won’t be disappointed.
