Background: I used to live nearby but had to move up north (MI) for work. Bringing my daughter down to LSU for a new enrollee event I decided to swing through Mandeville for lunch. Best food decision on this road trip! Perfect bread, flavorful shrimp (daughter got hot sausage and loved it) and fully dressed without being sloppy and gooey

Ordered with several people I work with to-go. It was picked up ans brought back. My fries were cold/old. My roast beef poboy half plain (no mayo lettuce tomato) that I ordered to have extra gravy did not have extra gravy and if what they did put on it is considered a good amount, they need retrained. Because I was hungry, I put a lot of BBQ sauce on it because it was so dry. Even then, I didn’t finish it nor the fries. I was so excited to try this from what my coworkers said. It is the worst lunch I have had in a very long time. 12 bucks for eww.

Stopped by this place after a work meeting. The staff were super friendly and helpful with advice since I had not had a Po-Boy before. It’s a small, clean, very efficient operation. It has cute decor inside. The menu and options are very clear. I had the roast beef and ham po-boy with french fries and a Coke. It was juicy and delicious.

Stopped in here for a late lunch and wanted to try the place out. The sandwich was good except for the fact that the bread was overtoasted to the point that there was burnt spots. Would have gotten a five-star review had they had a little better quality contro,l and when I went it was late in the afternoon and there was no crowd so they can’t say they were busy. The roast beef was good enough to make up for the burnt bread hopefully if I go back next time I won’t get a burnt sandwich.

Not Big Bears anymore. Recently heard they changed ownership. Recipe seemed similar, but the poboy size was significantly smaller. Not overstuffed, minimal cheese. New business name is deceiving. Thought I ordered a Big Bears sandwich. Quickly realized it wasn’t the same. No longer worth the hiked price.

Big Bear Po Boys are the best in the area and Legend. Their portions are grande with amazing flavors especially the BBQ roast beef. Prices are at market. It’s not really for dining in but for those grabbing a poorboy or burger for lunch they do offer a few tables outdoors with umbrellas. I would highly recommend for on the go burst of flavor deliciousness.

This was a darn good po boy! Got a half sandwich with chips and it was more than enough for a lunch meal. Crew was super friendly and helpful. I was on a work trip, but would definitely recommend and will have it on my list whenever I’m back!
