We went here because somebody else recommended it and it was pretty darn good, not very often you find a place to get a good steak in a bar type atmosphere. It’s a little small and they only had a few tables which I would have preferred but they had a large curved bar and could seat quite a few people, including our group of four. Like most bars it was loud but on the curved part of the bar we could at least see each other and had conversation.

The steaks were very good, and reasonably priced, service was a little bit slow but the place was busy and I found it very acceptable I would go there again to get a good steak.

This place used to have the best steaks in town. We came here on Valentine’s Day because you didn’t need a reservation. The bartenders are a little mean to you, but I liked it. The food came out a little cold/room temperature like it’s been sitting for awhile. If I’m paying $50 bucks for a steak it better come out hot. I think they rested it for too long because the gorgonzola butter I ordered to go on top wasn’t even melting. But the drinks are good here. And we ended up having a grand ol time.

Back for a second time, and the 8oz Filet Mignon didn’t disappoint! This time I paired it with the prawns and the fantastic twice-baked potato.

Seriously, this steak is a standout. The gorgonzola butter is a game-changer, adding a wonderful depth of flavor to the already perfectly seasoned and cooked (medium-rare) steak.

The twice-baked potato was also spot on and delicious.

The minestrone soup was another highlight – perfectly seasoned and a joy to eat.

Such a fun place! Not very big so be prepared to sit at the bar unless you want to wait for a table or sit outside on the patio. We sat at the bar and had fun watching the gals make drinks while waiting on all of us. The food was delicious, served with a smile and offer of anything else needed. We split a steak and potato and were full after enjoying the amazing cheddar mushroom broccoli soup. We are from redding and will visit here every time we come to eureka. The service was amazing

We were 2 starving people came here late night after a 6hr hiking. My friend saw the steak sign as we drove by so we visited this place without any prior review/plan.

It was mid summer time and house was full. Steak was great! (Taste, portion size, and price all very satisfying) I also loved their local cider, couldn’t remember the name but got me trying cider in every bar I went thereafter.

We decided to stop in and try the steaks for our Anniversary. We went in around 4:15pm (dinner starts at 4pm) and easily found a table. The steaks were melt in your mouth perfect. The Gorgonzola butter is good but a bit salty. Justine was fantastic – she was holding down the bar and serving tables with a smile.

The servers are skilled and knowledgeable about the food and options. Hands down, the best steaks in the county and most places I’ve been elsewhere!! The soups offer best bites over the bag salad option, and they know how to bake potatoes right. You’re served a bit of cottage cheese, and a dollop of horseradish on the side… don’t get them confused!! I once confused the horseradish for my sour cream, that was one intensely flavored baked potato!! My hubby gets the onion rings in lieu of the potato (fries are another option, and twice baked potatoes) Also… it’s always worth the $3 to add the gorgonzola butter sauce to your steak! They have house made cheesecake, but I’ve never been able to try it, I’m so stuffed full of amazing steak! You get a small discount for ordering two of the same steak together. This place is mostly a bar, with a few 4 and 2 seater options. If it’s an important event, make a reservation, but don’t bring a crowd, they would never fit!! Worth the effort to get a seat here, I’ve never been disappointed. They also have some tasty appetizers, but I keep it to the steak, it is just that good!! They also do breakfast on Saturday, brunch on Sunday, and lunch some days with a good looking menu. Any meat eater can find something tasty on their menu at any meal… I think the prices are great for the quality of the product!!

On the TV there’s another spectacle, hardly war and more of what they call reality. Quietly the light dims over us and our spirits slide further into our dead gardens. We shuffle through our winter and hope there is an explosion of life after this death, a light that will let us grow again and one where I feel like leaning back in my chair again… AA has the best bang for your buck lunch awesome staff and food, full bar!

I called to see if they were hiring or if I could send my information via email ., because I don’t live nearby and was trying to get a list of places that might actually be hiring to visit. I was also very sick and had just lost my job, trying to figure things out. The woman who answered responded in a harsh, angry tone, saying, “You’re calling instead of coming in? You won’t get the job. Anyway,” and immediately hung up on me. I’m glad that I had that interaction first though cause there’s no way in hell I would want to work with someone so cold. That’s not the way to talk to people and if thats how you treat a random person over the phone I can only imagine how horrible she is in person. I have loved coming by Double a’s mainly for the food since i was a kid, but that lady just lost a lifelong customer and potential good coworker over her terrible heartless attitude. As a bartender myself for years I would never treat anyone that way especially answering on a work phone at work. Every other person i talked to this day were nice helpful and gave me emails and ideas of places to check out. Try hiring less miserable people. Disgusting behavior. Im sure she did that in front of customers as well with how busy it sounded in the backround and probably went and laughed it off afterwards how evil to treat someone who is just struggling to find work during the holidays ????
