If you are looking for something unique and delicious this is certainly a top choice. Similarly interesting restaurants in the rest of Philadelphia will likely involve traffic and tough parking. This place is always hassle free and friendly. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any order. The crispy rice pieces, rich pilafs with barbecued meat, sweet berry sauces, homemade hummus, stews, and depth of seasonings have been bringing us back with friends over and over … and we rarely go anywhere more than once.

Wow, what a find! We searched for food nearby and thought Persian would be nice. We had no idea how great this place would be. The portions are both authentic and generous. The sauces are amazing. The veggies are fresh. The atmosphere is refreshingly quiet (gentle piano music with good sound reduction to minimize distractions from other diners. Our server, Bishwash, was very nice — patient, respectful, and happy to accommodate special requests. I tried the traditional yogurt drink, and recoiled at first from is very sharp and tangy sensations, but I was addicted to it by the time I finished (especially since Bishwash kindly topped it off with extra seltzer to thin it out for me (and recommended sprinkling it with a little sumac — available on the table next to the salt and pepper). The saffron and pistachio ice cream was the perfect ending to a lovely meal. We will be back often!

There is room for improvement of persian grill:
The music which is played all the time is the spa/massage place music.
Food is ok, some better than others. Tahdig khoresh is the best and zereshk polo is my favorite.

I recently visited The Persian Grille and was thoroughly impressed from start to finish. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with beautiful Persian décor and soft music that set the perfect mood for the dining. The staff was exceptionally welcoming and attentive, making sure we were comfortable and well taken care of throughout our meal.
We started with the appetizer sampler. Each item was bursting with authentic flavors and served with warm, fluffy Persian bread that was simply irresistible.
For the main course, we ordered the chicken and lamb shish kabob. Both dishes were cooked to perfection—the lamb was tender and juicy, and the chicken was flavorful and moist.
The saffron rice that accompanied our meals was aromatic and complemented the meats beautifully.
The portions were generous, and the presentation was elegant.
To finish off the meal, we shared a cup of Persian tea.

Overall, The Persian Grille exceeded my expectations in every way. The combination of delicious food, excellent service, and a cozy ambiance makes it a good choice for anyone craving authentic Persian cuisine.

My friend and I shared the Mirza Ghasemi.Eggplant was savory but pita could have been a little softer. I had the Addas Polo with lamb. The chunks were plentiful and delicious, rice had lentils, raisins and dates which made a wonderful flavor combo. My friend had the Kabab Koubideh with Chicken. The skewers were marinated to perfection and so tasty. Generous portions so we had food left to take home.
Immaculate restrooms and friendly staff.

We loved the food! We ordered the royal kabab, which included both chenjeh and kubideh. Both were tender and juicy. The shirin polo was good as well, with a strong orange zest flavor. For an appetizer, we had kashk bademjoon, which was quite satisfying, though (I wish they had served it with Persian bread instead of pita.) We also ordered Akbarmashti ice cream, which was rich with saffron and just the right amount of sugar. Overall, I would recommend this place.

One of my top recommendations to anyone who lives in or visits Philadelphia or the Greater Philadelphia Area. Unforgettable food. Get the rice with cherries.

Very good Persian food.

It’s a small cozy restaurant. Staff was very kind and friendly, explained the menu very well, and accommodated most special requests. Thank you!

Food was good. Kabobs were really good, lamb chops being the star of the show. Chenjeh and chicken with bone were really good too.
Tahdig with stew was not rice tahdig which was weird. All else was great.

Will be back!

My husband and I have been curious about this place for years and we finally gave it a try. We don’t know anything about Persian cuisine so the menu was a bit daunting but we settled on grilled lamb kababs for him and grilled Cornish hen for me. We started with the fried eggplant appetizer and had the Persian ice cream and baklava for dessert. Everything was delicious. The dining room is cozy and the service good. We’ll go back to try some of the other dishes.
