Really good pulled pork, I somehow glanced over the part of the menu that said the mac n cheese has green chilies in it but thats my mistake. It was a bit warm for my preference but I’m not a big fan of spicy stuff. It does have a good flavor and is unique, not a generic mac and cheese you can get anywhere.

Ribs: 6/10 (meat was moist but bark was tough and dry, you could tell it was slightly overcooked because the bones were too soft/brittle)
Brisket: 8/10 (very good, solid brisket, tender, fat was cooked perfectly)
Coleslaw: 7/10 (standard/good)
Macaroni salad: 5/10 (too sweet, became overpowering over time)
Toast: 7/10 (good bread, but I prefer cornbread with BBQ)
Sweet tea: 9/10 (perfect. Not too sweet but just sweet enough)

Overall: 7/10. Would suggest if you’re ever in the area. Better than most BBQ you get when picking a random spot. Good prices for what you get. Short wait time for seating and for food.

Best mac & cheese I have ever tasted first of all! The smoked brisket was very good, the burnt ends were incredible. I really enjoyed the bbq sauce they had to offer as well. You were able to try all within their selection which was really nice. Great restaurant, definitely try the mac & cheese!

I’m going to start with the negatives since there aren’t that many.
First, I was hoping for more of a restaurant since we were trying it for a date night. I didn’t realize they were not that style. However, that’s not really bad on their part, just not what I was expecting for my first time.
The restaurant was self-serve and searing was open. It was clean and well maintained. Everyone was friendly.
The food overall was good. I did not care for the green beans. They had a funky taste to them.
Last thing was I was disappointed that the banana pudding was really weak on the banana. I felt there should have been more banana in it, chunks or puree to make the flavor stronger.
THE RIBS are where the $$$ is! MY WORD were they so good. I also enjoyed the sweeter baked beans! Yummy. I did add BBQ sauce to make it a bit less sweet which was perfect. Their brisket was sliced super thin. It was more like thick sliced brisket BACON. But the flavor was very good. We also tried their cheesy jalapeño sausage. It wasn’t as spicy as we thought it would be but very delicious.
Coleslaw was creamy and good. Had a nice balance of creamy and tangy. Also the cornbread casserole “spoon bread” was really good. It’s a very southern thing and I was delighted to see it on the menu!!! We also tried the potato casserole which was very good. Think creamy cheesy potatoes… yum. Their fries seemed fresh cut and were very good as well. And the garlic bread was a nice touch to the trays.
Over all I’d say 8/10, and I can’t wait to come back and try the chicken! I wished the 1/2 chicken was on the menu more frequently. I had it at a catered event and it was amazing. If for nothing else, I will definitely be back for ribs.

To give some context on my review, I always order my ribs without any sauce because I like to taste the smoke in the meat. Their smoked ribs used to be out of 5 stars, but yesterday my husband and I ordered a full slab and I was beyond of disappointed. It was evident that the ribs weren’t smoked enough, I ate 3 just because it was my first meal in the day, but they weren’t tasty as usual, they were soggy, full of fat and looked and tasted like they were lightly smoked and finished in a conventional oven, leave alone that they weren’t salted enough. My husband ate the rest because he eats anything and was hungry.
The staff was very nice but the cleanliness of the place can be better.

This place is absolutely amazing but damn it’s greasy. Last minute choice for dinner and they were open. Food was a little better this time. But if you want some Mac n cheese, this place is it. Tried the Caramel Apple Slushy, no thanks I’m good. I went to the bar to get it and he asked which flavor I wanted. Told him Caramel Apple like it says on the sign up front. He’s like oh it’s just sour apple w caramel drizzle on the sides. Ok well it’s not worth $7.

Best Barbeque in town hands down. If you have never eaten at Shigs you owe it to yourself to correct that oversight. We order the holiday meal every year and the time it saves is worth every penny but the food puts it over the top as a no brainer! They added pulled turkey this year and it was a big hit with us. I hope they never stop offering it.

Not the best BBQ I’ve ever had but it wasn’t bad. The beer was pretty good but the stuffed jalapenos were absolutely amazing. I will definitely go back to drink and eat Jalapenos l.

This place is pretty good. The food is AWESOME.

The setup when you walk in is different. Outside, the place comes across as a sit down restaurant, but it’s actually more like “fast bbq”. You order at a cash register with a giant menu behind it.

We got the Big Shig Platter for our hungry family of 4 and it’s just perfect. The brisket is great, the pulled pork is juicy, cheddar jalapeño sausage is to die for, and of course the gorgeous ribs.

They do deliver this food to your table that you have chosen once it’s ready.

Note: you SHOULD be getting plates and utensils.

Our first time, they didn’t bring any of that out to us. We asked for plates and utensils and the cranky teen that was working dumped like 8 forks on our table and left. I’m suspicious that this may be because we don’t tip restaurants that aren’t actually our servers. Bringing out our food is standard since I can’t go back to your kitchen and get it myself. But… maybe I’m paranoid.

We didn’t tip the second time either and a different happy teen bringing the food out actually brought all that without us having to ask. So I’m going to say that our first time experience here was a fluke with a cranky teen that didn’t want to be there on a Sunday.

I do recommend for a good meat meal!
