Great little pizza spot. The dough had a great consistency and the menu was not too big so it made it easy to pick. 100% I recommend the meatballs, they come with amazing garlic knots as well. The parking is small next to the building but there is a bigger parking lot for the restaurant right by it so we had no problem getting parking. We will definitely be back.

Good thing crust pizza. We also ordered a sub, good bread on sub as well. Garlic knots were a little hard, but tasty. House salad large enough to split and liked the way it was presented.

We purchased several pizzas and a slice of cheesecake to go. All had a good taste but my family did complain about the amount of toppings. They were very scarce. Also, the cheesecake seemed to be store bought. Someone asked the cashier where they get the cheesecake from and she didn’t know, so I’m guessing not made in house. I personally don’t think the size of the pizza and the scarcity of toppings was worth the price. Picture attached is us paying extra for artichokes. Some slices only had one little strip of artichoke, couldn’t even taste it. Also, the Casio de Pepe had sections of no sauce at all, just cheese. Not sure if they were just in a rush or if that’s how it’s normally made.

This place was great! The atmosphere is amazing and the food was even better! We got the garlic knots which are a must! Followed with bruschetta and, a menu favorite, the Italiano sandwich! Highly recommend giving this place a go!

Angelo’s is a stellar new pizza place in Tavares that you really must check out. The dough is cured for 48 hours to give it that perfect chewy texture. You may choose your own toppings to fashion your pie exactly as you desire. And believe it or not, the pizza comes out in a matter of minutes because of the incredible wood fired oven that they imported from Italy.
Angelo and his family and friendly staff are bringing something to Lake County that we’ve never had before. You can even bring your pooch and sit out on the patio!
I know that we will be back soon, and often. Mangia!

I had high hopes for this place… I really did because two of my friends went there, and told me it was really good… I beg to differ. I ordered some mozzarella sticks, and they tasted like they were not cooked all the way. They had zero cheese pull, and we’re just meh. I mentioned my opinion about them not being fully cooked to my server, but didn’t get much of a response.

As for the pizza, I thought a wood fired pizza was supposed to have a crispy under crust, and edges, but be airy, and chewy inside the rim….that third picture below shows a slice that is anything BUT that. The pizza looked visually good when it arrived, but then once I got into it, there was no crispy, crunch, or anything else I’d reasonably expect.

I tried eating three small slices, hoping I’d find some level of satisfaction, but sadly that was not the case. I put the rest in a box, and took it with me. I didn’t bother mentioning anything about the pizza because I really don’t like to voice my displeasure, but after leaving, and stewing on it for a while, I decided to make my opinion public.

The restaurant itself looked very nice inside, and it was clean everywhere I looked. They have a nice outside patio that would be fine on a fair weather day like today. The place was packed with people, so they must be doing something right, but my personal experience on this day, December 5th, 2025, was less than stellar… I really looked forward to trying this place out, but since first impressions go a long way with me, I believe tonight was my first, and last time I will be coming here. I wish them the best, but I won’t be back.

I will not say that others should not try this place… that’s not my style, or how I operate. I always think people should try some place that’s new to them, and if you come here, and ha great experience then good for you. Go see for yourself.

What a great first visit to Angelo’s! After doing a little research I had to try the meatballs and a pizza. I let the young lady behind the counter pick for me as I’m game for anything pizza! When I got home it was a nice surprise to find their Mount Vesuvio Pizza – a fresh mozzarella, tomato, spinach and feta garlic pie. The pizza was nice and light with lots of flavor. The fresh garlic was not overpowering. The crust was nicely done, with a decent char but not overdone. It was a nice compliment to the meatballs. They were excellent with lots of flavor and were very tender. They were in a good amount of sauce and included garlic knots. Everyone working was very friendly, welcoming, and thankful. Even the owner was there. That’s a good sign! They also have a dining area on the other side. Cozy and comforting, I will be back!

This was our first visit. Limited seating and kind of loud but not a deal breaker. My husband and I both ordered pizzas, which were very good, and they came out pretty quickly. I highly recommend the Vesuvio. The pizzas are 13″ and can be shared between 2 people, so we definitely had leftovers.

Katie was our server. She was very nice and very attentive. She checked on us several times and even chatted with us several times.

The menu is made up of pizza, sandwiches, salads, and appetizers. I wish I would have tried Angelo’s years ago when they offered Italian dishes, but Katie said they might integrate them into the menu. Looking forward to it!

Great first impression! We tried Angelo’s for the first time last night and picked up 6 pies. Everyone at our party loved them. They were delicious…….traditional Italian style pizza with great dough, crust, and a tasty sauce. We had a white pizza too which was also very good. Nice little family business….I met Angelo and his daughter while waiting on my order and they were super friendly. There’s a nice little dining room and patio as well……cool vibe and atmosphere. Tavares definitely needed a place like this and we can’t wait to try some of their other food. Congrats and keep up the good work!

Highly recommend this fantastic restaurant! We have dined in on several occasions already and had wonderful experiences. The food quality is the best, the service is warm and friendly, and the owners are personable and ensure a great experience. Adriana and Angelo are wonderful and their team is attentive. Tracie made our night on several occasions even taking extra good care of us on her own birthday. The host team is warm and friendly and offered a nice greeting. We were so excited for them to open and they did not disappoint! Stop in for some fantastic appetizers, fired pizza, sandwiches, entrees and desserts. My husband loves the meatballs with fresh ricotta. We recommend the new gluten-free salted caramel cheesecake. It is worth it! 🙂
