Dropped in with friends today, in a whim after a long hike. We enjoyed the chili, soup, burgers and potato skins. For dessert we all shared a large slice of the carrot cake. I didn’t catch our servers name, but she was the only person serving and never made us feel rushed or unattended. Food was really good, parking was easy. Bathroom was clean and well stocked.

So I’ve been to J&T very often through the years but never had a chance to go to the Woodbine Inn across the street. I know these two businesses collaborate with crabs. Perhaps the same owner? One thing you should be aware of is the traffic pattern is a bit janky so be cautious around here. So when you order crabs from here, it gets hand delivered across the street from J&T. It takes about 20 minutes so if you want to eat right away, call Woodbine Inn and place the order so that it is ready when you get there. Another bit of advice: call several days in advance and pre-order the largest crabs they have available for the day you are coming. We came on a Saturday at 1pm and only mediums were available.

We were waited on by Jenn who was very attentive and friendly. She explained how things worked around there. We ordered a pitcher of Yuengling, 1/2 fried chicken, side salad, onion rings, 1lb of shrimp, 4 cups of half and half- 1/2 Md crab soup and 1/2 cream crab soup, and 2 dozen medium crabs.

The beer came out really cold and refreshing. So much so that a fly decided to take a plunge in one of the cups. Jenn replaced the cup of beer without hesitation. I was looking forward to the fried chicken but was a bit disappointed. Chicken and crab combo is awesome but this chicken, although piping hot, was somewhat dry. I have a phobia about dry food and could not finish the thigh. Just needed to be a little bit more moist and juicy. The salad was fresh and the vinaigrette dressing was on point. The onion rings were huge but only 4 pieces came out. It was a side to the chicken so that was fine. The shrimp was ok. I would have preferred a little more seasoning but that is just me. Now the soup… when I hear half and half, I was thinking possibly a 2section bowl with half Md crab soup and 1/2 cream of crab soup. Nope. It just came out mixed together. But it kind of worked! I enjoyed every last drop of it and so did everyone else at the table. Now the crabs. I saw a young man trekking across that dangerous street playing frogger and dodging traffic to get us those crabs and surprisingly, they stayed hot the entire meal! Even though they were medium, they were all fully packed! For the 4 of us, 2 dozen was more than enough. We had couple of pieces left over so we took that home. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience here today. Definitely would have been a 5 star if the chicken was moist!

We had a very enjoyable lunch on Saturday at the Woodbine Inn, our first visit to the restaurant. It’s a cozy and rustic restaurant with somewhat tight seating. Our food was delicious. We had Bang Bang Shrimp for our appetizer ($14.99) and a shrimp salad platter ($18.00) and a steak & cheese sandwich ($14.00). The restaurant was a very nice alternative to the corporate seafood restaurants.

This was the Best Meal I’ve had in a while 🙂 I had the snow crab my wife had the chicken salad sandwich and my sister had the BLT. Everything was wonderful. Our server Amber was top notch! She was so fun we loved her. The balls at the Woodbine were amazing! The crab balls were 90% crab and flavorful beyond compare. (I had the fried) I also had the hushpuppy balls. They took me back to my grandma’s cooking ❤️ I can’t say enough about them. Thank you Amber and the Woodbine Inn.

Went here on the advice of a friend. Usually these older places that are off the beaten path, have some pretty great food, but this place was pretty hit or miss. The misses: The fried oysters were super greasy, and other than fried breading, had no flavor. The crab dip also suffered from lack of seasoning, and wasn’t hot. The steak and cheese also left a lot to be desired, but that’s on me for ordering a Philly sandwich icon, in Woodbine, Maryland LOL! The hits: The Wings were AWESOME! Big, juicy, and fried to perfection, liberally seasoned with Old Bay. Note that these are battered wings, which I don’t typically like, but these were done right. The potato salad was also great, my buddy ate two servings. The fries were good, and the fried chicken is legit. Atmosphere wise, it’s just an old local bar/restaurant, with lots of regulars. We sat at the bar, and while the bartender may not have smiled once, he gave excellent service. Would go back for the wings and fried chicken.

Always the best crabs, everything is always delicious and very friendly staff. Always get a order of the onion rings they are the best I’ve ever had.
May 2025 they have changed the way they make their onion rings and fluff. It’s no longer the taste or quality of many past visits. I still go for the crabs and soups I didn’t like the onion rings.

I had a wonderful time in the off-the-beaten-path restaurant and bar. This was a true down home experience. The is zero pretense here. I highly recommend that you seek this place out and enjoy a solid meal. I recommend the seafood dishes and nacho salad.

This was our first time dining in. Our usual go-to crab house in Reisterstown wasn’t available so we decided to try this place’s dine in. We’ve ordered crabs from across the street (J&T Seafood) to Woodbine Inn before and they were good.. They told us at that time if we ever wanted to dine in, we could go to the restaurant across the street and order crabs and they would be sent over to our table. So we decided to give it a try. We called ahead to check their crab availability. We decided to order a dozen large crabs and was told they would be ready and delivered to our table as we came in. The guy on the phone also told us they now had a special for $55 for all you can eat medium crabs from 4-9pm which also would include soup, hush puppies and some other items I can recall. When we got there, the restaurant seemed very busy. We were not immediately greeted and had to wait about 3 minutes before someone acknowledged us. The server told us he had just called our name and how we had a 6:00pm reservation…mind you the guy on the phone never gave us an exact time and…it was exactly 6:01pm. He then told us to hold on and he would seat us. He proceeded to go to the machine to get paper to cover the table and never told us to follow him over. He looked back to see if we were there, at which time we hurried along. He sat us right at the door, on a 2 seat table that would later barely hold the dozen crabs we ordered. After sitting for about 6 minutes we saw the server again and asked him for menus, as we wanted to order more than just crabs. He brought out our hot crabs about 10 minutes after we sat down, still no menus. He then came back and asked what we would like to drink. Each time he came to the table to ask us a question, he would hurry off before we would even fully respond or ask for anything else. We had to catch him as he waited on other tables to ask for napkins and refills on our drinks, as well as corn on the cob and French fries. When the fries came out, they were overcooked and burnt. We asked him to take them back at which time we received an annoyed look. He took them away and about 10 minutes later he came back with some hush puppies that we never ordered, claiming to give them to us in place of the fries. We don’t like hush puppies and again, never order them. I’m not sure if this is the typical service or if service has gone down since they started offering “all you can eat crabs”. I also felt and observed the waiter being more attentive to other tables. When we received the check, the French fries were on there. I took the check to the counter where the waiter was and he asked if there’s a problem. I said yes, the fries are on the bill. He said “oh really?” He took it and removed the fries and somehow pretended to misplace the pen he literally had on the counter 2 seconds before. Guess he didn’t want me to touch it or something. He finally found it and gave it to me with an eye roll. The receipt has the server listed as: “Cash S”. We will not be eating here again. If we do get crabs again, we will order them from J&T Seafood across the street and take them home. The crabs were good but like I said, they came from J&T Seafood across the street from this restaurant. The restaurant itself is crowded, tables aren’t spaced out well. There are much better places to get crabs and food in Maryland. Don’t waste your time…or money!
