The Auburn Taverna is a fresh, modern take on traditional Greek dining, inspired by the flavors of the Auburn Cafe in Ecorse. With a menu centered around grilled favorites and classic Greek flavors, The Auburn Taverna blends warmth, authenticity, and a contemporary twist. Inspired by family traditions and a deep love of food, we’ve created a welcoming space where guests can enjoy vibrant dishes, a relaxed atmosphere, and a true taste of Greek hospitality.

We went on a Friday night and it was busy. The wait was about 30 minutes and it was well worth the wait. The food was fresh and delicious. The portion sizes were large. We had to get take out boxes. The food was just a good the second day. We had the grilled chicken, meatballs and rice, Greek salad, and a side of amazing potatoes. The wait staff was great as well. We Love this place. We will be regulars for sure. Thank you!!

If you’re looking for a great place to eat, I highly recommend The Auburn Taverna! The lamb chops were incredibly tender and the marinade was truly chef’s kiss worthy. Every bite was packed with flavor.
The atmosphere was casual, welcoming, and comfortable—perfect for a relaxed meal. The service was excellent, and the food absolutely lived up to the legacy of the Auburn Cafe.
It’s always nice to see a place honor a local favorite while still delivering such a great dining experience. Definitely worth checking out!

Elissa here!
We had been to Auburn taverna I think last month and forgot to leave a review until now.
The location is awesome, the restaurant and vibe is clean and inviting. The owner and her family are very nice people! And best of all, they accomodate people like me who can’t eat gluten! I had a really amazing chicken gyro on a GLUTEN FREE PITA! First time in a long time I could actually eat a gyro so I was very happy. The tzaziki sauce was delicious as were the potatoes. The service was a little slow and we had to ask for utensils and napkins but that was a very minor issue. I can’t wait to go back and order another gluten free gyro again!

My wife is 2nd generation Greek so we know good Greek food and Auburn is one of the best Greek restaurants we have been to in a long time. The lemon rice soup and grape leaves are clearly homemade and wonderful. I had the village salad and it was excellent and a generous portion size. Jocelyn, our server, was excellent – friendly, attentive, and helpful.
The downside (and this may keep us from coming back) is that if having conversation is a desired feature of your meal, it will be difficult. To the owners – you have done a great job assembling a menu and staff and creating an inviting decor. Put some sound absorption up in the ceiling or on the walls so your guests can hear one another when the restaurant is busy (as you deserve to be based on the food and service).

Food was OK. Not as good as the original location. I had the gyro bowl and the meat was not that good. I don’t think I’ll go back here. My friend had the octopus and didn’t like it.

We recently visited the new Auburn Taverna restaurant and were absolutely impressed. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared—each dish felt thoughtfully crafted with a perfect balance of traditional Greek flavors and a modern twist. The atmosphere was just as enjoyable: stylish, welcoming, and relaxed, making it a great place for both a casual night out or a special occasion. The attention to detail, from the presentation to the overall vibe, really stood out. We’re excited to come back and try more from the menu—this place is a wonderful addition to the Wyandotte dining scene! Congratulations, guys! ♥️

Auburn was a great restaurant in downtown wyandotte. Food is a la carte. Fish was amazing, bowls were great, chips were a great alternative to fries ir mashed. Was told the pork chops are heavenly but didn’t order it. Will come back to try them. Wait time for a table of 5 was 45 min on a sat evening, but management was nice and shuffled seats and they gave us free fries. Service was top notch, drinks flowed, very happy. Will return.

Went on Thursday for dinner, no wait sat right away. Server was very nice. We ordered salmon bowl, steak bowl and lamb chops. Only reason we ordered bowl is because allnsides are extra. The lamb chops were ok, but no sides. The salmon had no season very blan and came with soy sauce. The steak was ok but also came with soy sauce. Its odd Greek dish served with soy sauce.
Not Greek food I am use to.

We had such an incredible experience at The Auburn Tarvana! The food was absolutely amazing — I ordered the salmon, and my husband had the lamb chops, and both were cooked to perfection. The flavors were spot on! We also tried the lemon potatoes and grape leaves, and they were so tasty.
The atmosphere is beautiful — the restaurant itself is stunning and such a wonderful addition to downtown Wyandotte. The drinks were delicious, and the whole experience was awesome!
We can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great meal and a beautiful dining experience.

We went on a Monday night- it was busy but no wait. We ordered drinks and apps first. Drinks took a while to get but nbd. The Fotini was great as were the feta stuffed olives in it. However, our server didn’t come to take our actual order for 40 minutes. She did apologize for that. The dips we got as an app were good. Saganaki was good. They don’t give you enough pita bread for the dip sampler. As far as our entrees- there aren’t many options for vegetarians/vegans. I got the veggie pita which was pretty boring. No protein source for it at all. Basically a salad in a pita. Potato’s were soggy which was disappointing as I had heard they were good. I can’t speak for the meat eaters but the ones in my group said the food was just ok, meat wasn’t cooked how they had ordered, and was bland. The place is cute and I hope they can do better. I also have a gift card I forgot to bring and I might just give it to someone else
