The food was absolutely amazing — perfectly seasoned, tender, and full of flavor.
The drinks were right on point and balanced beautifully, and the desserts were the perfect ending to an unforgettable meal.
The location itself is excellent — elegant, comfortable, and set in a beautiful part of Wailea.
But what truly stood out was the service. Huge shoutout to Manager Mary-Lynn and Waiter Patrick for their warm hospitality and top-tier professionalism.
They made us feel genuinely welcome and ensured every detail was perfect.
If you’re in Maui and looking for a memorable dining experience, Ruth’s Chris in Wailea is a must.
The steaks are delicious. Various cuts are prepared to order on extremely hot plates. Aged appropriately and meticulously prepared, they’re the best.
Side dishes are a large carte. Each are the perfect accompaniment to the entrees. If you’re not sure what you’d like, ask your server for suggestions.
A full bar area is available.
There is plenty of free parking adjacent to the restaurant.
Our waiter Aaron took a great care of us.
The steak was outstanding — in my opinion even better than at Nobu. Perfectly prepared, full of flavor, and cooked exactly as ordered. My wife had the Caesar salad and said it was the best Caesar salad she has ever had.
The desserts were absolutely phenomenal, a perfect way to finish the meal.
The service was exceptional — attentive, professional, and genuinely friendly.
We enjoyed it so much that we immediately made another reservation for dinner tomorrow.
Highly recommended.
Although we didn’t have a reservation, we were fortunate to find a spot right away and were seated promptly.
They offer early bird specials between 4:30 and 6:00 p.m., so I made it just in time—only a few minutes before the steak special ended!
I ordered the steak with shrimp, which came with a salad and dessert. It’s such a great deal if the timing works out for you. All their dinners are Al La Carte, but this deal comes with a side so I did the garlic mashed potatoes and they were delicious .
Our server, Jared, was fantastic—very attentive and always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. His kindness made the experience even better.
We were seated near the window, and it turned out to be the perfect time to enjoy the sunset. It was truly a memorable evening.
I would go back, but they definitely need to check their cleaning and food storage practices. I guess I am lucky I only ate one, but had I eaten more I may have needed to go to the hospital. I reported it to the health department so maybe others in the future will not have the same issue. The service was ok, and the food was fantastic.
If your goal is to make a customer feel unwelcome, disrespected, and outright singled out, then Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Hawaii deserves a standing ovation. Because you absolutely mastered it.
I came with my family to celebrate my birthday. I politely asked our server if there was any birthday special.
He confidently told me “No.”
Then immediately followed it with “But happy birthday to you.”
Touching. Truly.
Imagine my surprise when I watched table after table around us receiving the fire strawberry birthday dessert, complete with staff singing Happy Birthday like they were auditioning for a musical. Seems like the special magically exists when it’s someone else’s birthday.
Just to confirm I wasn’t hallucinating, I asked another server what the dessert was. He instantly replied, “Oh, that’s our birthday and anniversary special.”
So the special exists.
Everyone around me gets it.
But not me.
When the original server returned and I asked about the contradiction, he suddenly developed selective memory.
He “didn’t know” it was my birthday.
He “didn’t remember” the conversation.
Funny how he remembered to say Happy Birthday to me earlier though.
At this point, the message was loud and clear:
Other guests deserve the celebration.
We apparently do not.
Whether it was discrimination, bias, or just shocking incompetence, the effect was the same:
My birthday dinner was ruined, and my family felt embarrassed on my behalf.
For a place that charges premium prices, Ruth’s Chris delivered the most uncomfortably unequal experience I’ve had in years.
If this is their standard of hospitality, then bravo — because I will never forget it.
And I will never return.
Management needs to take a serious look at what’s happening here, because this level of disrespect should not be happening to ANY guest.
